With those Volvo quotes, I'd take them to your local dealer (in person or just email) they may be able to beat them or at least include metallic.

That's what we did with our XC60, found the cheapest quote through a broker, then found cheapest quote from a dealer who was miles away from us who beat the brokers by a fair bit, then contacted local dealers to give them a chance to beat, which they did slightly and we get to collect it too.

Volvo's finance is through santander, so may not be loads cheaper if at all, but always worth checking.

Pick it up at lunchtime today as it goes!!!!

Just back from a test drive, nice little cars!

T3 was nippy enough and felt faster than the Evoque D150 we currently have.

Felt more spacious inside too, but it looks smaller to me compared to the range, dunno.

Needs a few options ticked to get it to the equivalent spec. Will likely be going for the T3 R Design Auto, will see how much extra the camera and climate packs add.

Climate Pack at £725 will add £18.31 to the monthly
Android Auto/Apple Carplay at £300 will add £7.58 to the monthly
Park Assist at £575 will add £14.52 to the monthly

£40 extra a month to add front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, smartphone connectivity, heated steering, front seats, rear seats, windscreen and mirrors.

Anyone that leased a Merc E class coupe/cab 2 years ago had a price to extend another year?

We have asked twice (Lex) and still waiting. There is nothing similar or as cheap atm (e350 cab premium plus for £450pm!) so no reason to change if the price for another 12 months is decent

Please post up when you get a response from Lex - I've got an E300 Coupe and I'd love to extend for another 12 months.

Spoke to a guy this morning from BCA regarding the purchase of my end of lease vehicle, the quote I received in January before I extended for 6 months has now increased £1450, 6 months older and 6500 more miles.
He said we are in a bubble at the moment with used prices and they change daily, unprecedented was his words.
With that in mind I think leasing is still the way to go at the moment, even though lease prices are higher than previous the used market is getting really silly, decent cars in short supply, I am on the look out now for a 18-24 month lease to ride out this crazy period.

There is no doubt that we're in a period pretty much un-seen in recent history. If you flick between WBAC and Motorway and refresh daily you will likely see values increasing on secondhand cars. There's guys who picked up decent PCH deals 9-18 months back who could basically get their money back selling it on now due to the strong discounts they acquired the car with back a while.

I have leased (PCP and PCH) for ~6 years now, and I am personally purchasing a 16 year old EP3 Type R as my next step. Totally different experience to my last couple of cars (S4 and A35) but it also means I can chuck £4k into a fun but practical enough car and ride out this madness for a while. When the dust settles I will take a look again.
And having said that, I also picked up the 235i GC deal for my wife a couple of months back, with delivery of that in September. So it really is horses for courses and what works and makes sense for one person will look unjustified to another.

Best thing to do is stay flexible, enjoy the ride and if you feel there's value in what you see then grab it and try not to look back...

I bought a 18 month old X3 in January, I can sell it to WBAC for £34k & a couple of others for £33,850, I can make £1k over what I paid for it from a main dealer.

If I can find a GTi or similar I’d sell the X3 as it’s too big for the Mrs & she uses it most. I’m looking for a car in stock but everything I’ve enquired about is a factory build.

18-24 month leases also seem to be very hard to come by on a decent deal, they're all either 36 or 48 months now.

Hey guys - query about extending a lease please:

I currently have a c class coupe C200 paying £320pm on a 3+35 deal. I didn't think it was great at the time (2019) but is now approx £100 cheaper than any comparable deal today!

I have 6 months left on my lease - i spoke to my broker who said as my lender is ALD it should be find - either 3/6/12 month extension possibilities. I then called ALD who said it is impossible to extend my lease because it is a PCP and so it would require a new credit check as they have only funded my for the 3 years blah blah blah. They said my only option is a late return of a maximum of 90 days...

Is this correct or is it possible the person doesn't know what they are on about and I should call back? My brother extended his 2 year lease for a total of 2 years, and i have seen comments above regarding trying to extend the E class coupes.

Cheers!

First question, is this a lease or PCP?

If it is a lease, then normally you can extend for the same price on the basis of an "informal extension".

Do you mean guys that purchased their leases 9-18 months ago? If purchasing ones lease now , it would be based on current average used market pricing so probably more than this time last year. I wished had purchased my Scirocco R at the end of my 3 year lease last year but decided to extend by another year. Likely be more now , even though its older and has covered more miles.

Anyway I pulled the trigger on an Audi TT in Feb and probably have saved myself some pennies compared to taking one out now so swings and roundabouts I guess.

Sorry, I mean 'signed the deal on their PCP' - getting myself a little tied into who owns what, but with PCP there's the option to pay off the car at the contracted value. So pay it off now, sell it on, break-even or potentially make money. Crazy times. We'll have to wait and see how long it all lasts.

My Abarth 124 Spider 19 plate is almost the same price as it was 2 years ago. I'm talking about retail price. But in 2019 you could get brand new/pre-registered one, now they are more than 2 years old. If I had a crystal ball in 2019, I would buy instead of leasing. I requested another purchase price from Leasys but didn't get anything back for a week. If purchase price is too high, I may have to return the car instead of buying.

When I took lease, depreciation was similar to lease cost, so I thought, that leasing will take away any risk of lower values in future. Also, it was car out of production and it was really difficult to predict future value. It's the first lease that turned against me.

BTW, this Abarth 595 Essesse came to my attention today, maybe someone is interested:

6 + 23 x 219.26 = 6,271.54 for 10K miles per annum.
At the time, you could buy similar car for £22K or pay extra for one with visibility pack at £23K.

I assumed, that trade-in price after 2 years will be £16K, so depreciation of around £6K.

Latest purchase price from Leasys from April was £17200. Retail prices for similar cars now starting from £20500. Actually, the cheapest car with similar mileage looks the same as mine, has the same spec and was registered on the same day, by the same dealer.

If I hadn't already decided on the EP3 purchase that 595 would have been very tempting! Nice deal.
£524 initial (inc. fees), £290 a month, 1+35 for 8k p/a is decent enough for a fun little run around!

Just signed up to the electic Kona premium deal with Evans Halshaw.

8k, 1+23. £257. Black (supposedly pearl but not convinced)

Man maths tells me I'll save a bunch of money on fuel so we'll see. The ionic is cheaper but the Mrs prefers the Kona
