That's a horrific deal, it's basically full RRP. They are doing 2.9% APR at the moment on PCP and massive discounts are available on that model, so leasing at that price makes no sense at all.
It may be a horrific deal but I wasn't seeking views as to how "good/bad" it was - which is why I described it as a "data point" as the best pricing I could find for the car and engine I particularly wanted. The massive discounts (for cash) you mention are between 6-10% per Whatcar and Carwow.
What I don't understand is why you were inferring pcp may be the way to go. I did look at this briefly.
A Volvo dealer was quoting 2.9%, 48 months, Finance and Dealer contribution 7.8, my deposit 3.5. £449/month. Total 21.5 + my deposit = £25k or, cost to me, £520/month over 4 years. My quote over 3 yrs was £517 and that included servicing and metallic and we all know the difference between 3-4 yrs re big service, MOT and warranty etc.
EDIT : I now have a live pcp quote from a Volvo dealer on exactly the same basis as my pch (3 yrs, metallic, servicing)
Deposit 15% (6.75k), Monthly £423. Amortising the deposit this works out at £610/month, compared to my leasing deal (see up thread of £517).
Or did I miss something?
I'd shop around a bit more with some of the big brokers, Broadspeed are quoting 20% off for example.
PCP offers you a lot more flexibility and the chance of some equity at the end of the deal too (although you can't rely on that) so all things being equal I'd always PCP rather than lease. If lease is cheaper enough compared to PCP to make it worthwhile, then sure, lease it.
Maybe that really is the best deal out there, and if you really, really want that car then fair enough, but it's very expensive.

Sorry for not being clear, yes by RRP I meant it was no saving over what you could get just by walking into a dealer.

I'll have a look at Broadspeed - and yes that is the car I want! Not looking for a "cheap" deal, just the best available for what I actually want.

I've never leased, but typically now that I'm considering it, the deals appear to be nowhere near what they were years ago.
Do we think they'll stay that way or that when we finally get out of Lockdown once and for all, that the market will shift?
My take on it is that whilst there's still so many working from home, that the market will favour the manufacturer vs consumer?
The current deals are nowhere near they were the last number of years, but so is the used car market a little crazy at the moment and I don't like the idea of throwing my hard earned at something that already £2k more than it was 6 months ago, once the chip situation is resolved and manufacture catches up from pandemic shut downs prices will ease I am sure, if you believe the stories doing the rounds then stock is being held back to keep prices high so that losses over the last 12 months are clawed back, not just on new but those used vehicles that have sat on forecourts for 12 months depreciating. Some 18 month old models are almost the same price as new. If its a bubble and it bursts you may get caught holding onto something you cannot offload at a decent price, so in many ways leasing still offers a level of protection to market adjustments similar to PCP but at a lower monthly cost and often with little to no deposit, although always worth checking against the PCP deals to compare. I am looking at all electric for my next lease, prices are quite attractive and when you deduct the savings Vs ICE vehicles you can often knock another £100 a month off.

Any opinions on this ID3 deal I'm getting through work?
ID.3 Family Pro Performance
£316pm for 36 months, nothing upfront, 8k miles. Includes maintenance and car insurance.
Seems like a good deal given how little it will cost to charge compared to my current 33mpg petrol car.

Cheers for the reply, just checked out 'Arnold Clark' and for the 128ti 'Blue Chilli' are coming out way cheaper ? For comparison:
Arnold Clark - 4 years with 8k miles (£999 initial rental then £359 p/m)
Blue Chilli - 4 years with 8k miles (£318 initial rental then £318 p/m)
The M135i for the same deal comes out at £348 p/m with 1 month up front on 'Blue Chili' and '£389 on 'Arnold Clark' ?
We’ve just gone through Sytner Affinity for M135iArnold Clark - 4 years with 8k miles (£999 initial rental then £359 p/m)

3mths, 10k, 3yrs £369.
Got to wait until Sept/Oct for delivery though.
Select leasing we’re doing £370, but when you call through, they said their prices had gone up to £425!!
So we know we got a fab deal via Sytner.

Standard, as much as we would’ve liked to add the pro pack.We have been keeping an eye for a year or so to wait for it to come back below £370 over those terms, so needed to keep to a specific cost as we’ve also not long taken on a lease on A220d AMG line executive also, which funny enough was delivered 2 weeks from ordering!!

Tell me about it. They keep telling you a lease is just you paying for the depreciation of a vehicle. The Tesla Model 3 is hardly depreciating yet they are still asking for comparatively high monthly payments.I am looking at all electric for my next lease, prices are quite attractive and when you deduct the savings Vs ICE vehicles you can often knock another £100 a month off.

Anyway, we aren’t talking a fortune different!

You’d of paid more like £340 on 3+35 in Feb and March on the same via AC (inc servicing as well).

Grrrr, annoyed I missed that one then!! Were they on leasing.com? As that’s where I tend to look as well as carwow leasing and the usuals major leasing companies.Anyway, we aren’t talking a fortune different!
Cross with myself now, especially as other half works in Glasgow!!!.
Our last few cars we have done pcp as had better deals than leasing, but our usual dealer ( Cooper, now Inchcape) wouldn’t even come close and told us to snap up the deal!
But then we have just got rid of our old BMW last week for a cracking price via car buying group, £2k more than a few months ago, so swings and roundabouts I guess. Unprecedented times with car prices at the moment.
I'm glad it's not just me!! I received my Kamiq Monte Carlo last Tuesday and cannot set the primary user.
I've followed all the instructions, put the 2 keys in the car, but continually receive an error message. Tried to Google it, but seems a common fault with the skoda connect.
Also same as you with the home button.... Annoying!!!

A week after receiving the Kodiaq:
Still cannot set the primary user. Skoda customer services is pants, it takes a minimum of 48hrs for them to reply to any emails. The fixes they have sent have not worked and i have been advised to take the motor into my local dealership.
'Home' button - why does this take me to an option to add more widgets? I have to click home twice to go to the home screen.
Have managed to get a stone chip in the windscreen already
But the vehicle itself is very nice, loads of head turners, even though it is just a Skoda!

Any thoughts on the following deals
https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/skoda/scala/...
Skoda scala monte carlo 1.5 tsi DSG
6+23 8k @ 187.67
There is also the 1.0 version for this which is a bit cheaper
Arrangement fee is a bit steep. Anyone know of any brokers or dealers who would be willing to match

Long time reader, first time poster.
What do you think of the following (through Santander):
Volvo XC40 1.5T3 R Design
15,000
£453.23 per month
Includes £58.07 in extras (climate pack, panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration and other bits).
Works out at 44.8% over 3 years.
Seems a lot of cash for an XC40 but given the mileage and options I’d say the only comparison to make is between this deal and the equivalent PCP as it will never compare well on the % of list price, which is pointless in my view anyway. What do you think of the following (through Santander):

Options will always make the deal worse as you are paying for 100% of the option cost, despite only having the car 2,3 or 4 years.
If you strip the options out of that deal, its not that bad a deal, when we were looking back in March, i think the r-design pro was about £350 on 10k miles.
Have you priced up the r-design pro? think that comes with climate pack.
