Long time reader, first time poster.

What do you think of the following (through Santander):

Volvo XC40 1.5T3 R Design
15,000
£453.23 per month
Includes £58.07 in extras (climate pack, panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration and other bits).
Works out at 44.8% over 3 years.
Try your Volvo dealer nearest to you. I say this because S friend of mine saw the lease deals spring time and took to our local dealer (Holdens Norwich) and they actually beat the best pch deal to provide them with a pcp deal instead and upped their spec to the 2.0 r design Pro. Worth a try.

That's a horrific deal, it's basically full RRP. They are doing 2.9% APR at the moment on PCP and massive discounts are available on that model, so leasing at that price makes no sense at all.
It may be a horrific deal but I wasn't seeking views as to how "good/bad" it was - which is why I described it as a "data point" as the best pricing I could find for the car and engine I particularly wanted.

The massive discounts (for cash) you mention are between 6-10% per Whatcar and Carwow.

What I don't understand is why you were inferring pcp may be the way to go. I did look at this briefly.
A Volvo dealer was quoting 2.9%, 48 months, Finance and Dealer contribution 7.8, my deposit 3.5. £449/month. Total 21.5 + my deposit = £25k or, cost to me, £520/month over 4 years. My quote over 3 yrs was £517 and that included servicing and metallic and we all know the difference between 3-4 yrs re big service, MOT and warranty etc.

EDIT : I now have a live pcp quote from a Volvo dealer on exactly the same basis as my pch (3 yrs, metallic, servicing)

Deposit 15% (6.75k), Monthly £423. Amortising the deposit this works out at £610/month, compared to my leasing deal (see up thread of £517).

Or did I miss something?
Sorry for not being clear, yes by RRP I meant it was no saving over what you could get just by walking into a dealer.

I'd shop around a bit more with some of the big brokers, Broadspeed are quoting 20% off for example.

PCP offers you a lot more flexibility and the chance of some equity at the end of the deal too (although you can't rely on that) so all things being equal I'd always PCP rather than lease. If lease is cheaper enough compared to PCP to make it worthwhile, then sure, lease it.

Maybe that really is the best deal out there, and if you really, really want that car then fair enough, but it's very expensive.
Some funders for PCH allow purchase at the end of the lease even though it may state not possible. Ive always found PCH a better way to get greater discount when compared to PCP . Not to say things are changing of course.

Options will always make the deal worse as you are paying for 100% of the option cost, despite only having the car 2,3 or 4 years.

If you strip the options out of that deal, its not that bad a deal, when we were looking back in March, i think the r-design pro was about £350 on 10k miles.

Have you priced up the r-design pro? think that comes with climate pack.
Depends some options put residual into account. Tech pack with Audi for example gave a discount from its RRP if opted (PCH) . Other options less of a discount. Tech pack consists of satnav etc so guess this is a popular option in the used market

Up thread I posted about a Volvo V60.

Overall, I found Stoneacre beat local dealer and Santander too.

Any thoughts on the following deals

https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/skoda/scala/...

Skoda scala monte carlo 1.5 tsi DSG
6+23 8k @ 187.67

There is also the 1.0 version for this which is a bit cheaper

Arrangement fee is a bit steep. Anyone know of any brokers or dealers who would be willing to match

I saw this when looking last night. Seems like a good deal to me and I'm tempted but think it might be a bit small for us as we are a one car family who travel a lot to see family. I think it looks to be a great car for the money though.

I'm looking at everything from this up to an Audi A4 Avant Black Edition 40TFSI, which is coming in at £385pm, 1+35, 8000mpa. That's with flat white paint and from Car Leasing Made Simple. No broker fees and October to November delivery.

So from the Scala up to the A4, I'm looking at everything in between, Karoq, Cupra Leon, XC40, RAV4...basically any SUV or estate, auto with a bit of poke and decent level of kit!!! Just can't decide as no deals seem that amazing!

I think MG electric cars are coming in about that, I think!!
If you have time you could always wait and see if the Skoda Enyaq comes down in price, it's about £370pm at the moment.

You can usually get decent deals on the Nissan Leaf. Something like this:

https://www.speakev.com/threads/brand-new-leaf-ace...

The Leaf isn't exactly class leading but it'll do the job of a family car fine.

Boot size rules the Kona out.

Hi,

Looking at a Ford Kuga, best I have found is £277.43, 1+35 8k miles for a 1.5 Ecoblue St-Line X Edition found on whatcar leasing. Direct with dealer so no fee.

Has anyone seen better?

Cheers.

I would say that’s a fab deal as was looking at these before settling on a M135i BMW (I know completely different).

The cheapest I found was Rivervale leasing and they had 3 stock vehicles at a similar price, but on a 3+35, so for 1mth down, you probably won’t beat that price.

I also test drove a 1.5 petrol version and it had plenty of pull, but found the manual a bit sticky tbh, so would probably go auto, but that’s personal preference of course.

Any opinions on this ID3 deal I'm getting through work?

ID.3 Family Pro Performance
£316pm for 36 months, nothing upfront, 8k miles. Includes maintenance and car insurance.

Seems like a good deal given how little it will cost to charge compared to my current 33mpg petrol car.
Where is this deal?

Anyone that leased a Merc E class coupe/cab 2 years ago had a price to extend another year?

We have asked twice (Lex) and still waiting. There is nothing similar or as cheap atm (e350 cab premium plus for £450pm!) so no reason to change if the price for another 12 months is decent
Please post up when you get a response from Lex - I've got an E300 Coupe and I'd love to extend for another 12 months.
not greats news as expected - extra 12 months is 12x£540pm @5k pa. Over 20% extra given our original deal was 8k pa

Amazing car but looks like it will go back so we are on the (impossible) hunt for something similar....

Thankyou, been in touch with these and they have offered me best deal I can find on a V60 Polestar Engineered. About to FTK today.

Coming from an S5 last lease, currently in a B8 RS4 which will go when this arrives. I need a change from the usual boring German choices.

https://www.stoneacreleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/vol...

Quote came out at £399pm on a 12+23 5k pa with Metallic paint FOC.

I can get an A6 Black Quattro 45 TFSI for same money, but quite frankly, its a bit uninspiring.

PS I know Im shopping the car and not the deal. Dont @ me! biggrin

I have an E300 with Lex from last year also, but I'm pretty sure we can continue keeping the car and paying the informal extension going forward? I think it works like a rolling contract.

It seems like many sign up to these leasing contracts without knowing for certain what they have signed up for.

So not £399/month, actually £580/month, for 5k/year.

Not really. I'm happy with handing the car back after the 2 contracted years. Keeping it going for an additional year would be a bonus, not a necessity.

You just seem to be not very sure on what your contract allows you to do though smile
