I’ll likely go ahead with this as been searching for a while and seems to be a good fit for what I’m looking for at a fair price.

For those who have dealt with Santander123 for PCH, what was your experience in dealing with them compared to others? Any issues to be aware of?

Also, random question but I’ve always gone through actual car dealerships, etc. If I go with Santander, what appears on the registration plate under the car registration as preferably would like to avoid advertising to everyone that I’ve got a car “on lease” as there are some judging people out there as some of you will be aware!
You could always buy a set of plates at Halfords for ~£40 and swap them over so it doesn't say LEASE CAR on it, but do people really care that much?

A service includes an inspection of suspension, brakes, tyres, exhaust, belts etc and isn’t just fluid changes.

You would void warranty, you could void insurance….

However unlikely it might be that a missed service means the car is a death trap, it could mean that.
you seem to be confusing a service with a MOT

Is a Touareg Black Edition 286 bhp diesel at c. £62,000 list on the basis of £550 per month on 3+35 10,000 pa a good enough deal to:

Send back my existing car early at a cost of £800?

It’s the car I want at a price I’m happy with but I’m in no hurry so could wait another 3 months before ordering and perhaps save the £800 in early return fee, but may miss out on that car and with the way lease prices are going could be paying the same amount on a poorer alternative. Any views?

also, to be clear, my original objection was the requirement in VWFS leases to have them do an oil change service at a main dealer, for a cost close to £300, instead of a local garage for a cost closer to £50

Nope. They send me a link to the video of their inspection at each service.

Quite irresponsible especially if unsuspecting passengers are being driven around by such in a potential death trap.
FFS calm down man. No car is going to turn into a death trap just because the local dealer hasn't changed the oil and filters on a <3yr old car - which is what basically happens on a service these days.

(Not that I'm advocating missing our services - it's just that to suggest the above "death trap" scenario is just silly)

Long while back a colleague was getting a replacement for his company car. There had been a cock up on various fronts and new car being delivered at one site, old car being collected at our home site. We regularly travelled between the two, car shared and it was his turn. So more fool me I agreed that he would drive us to the other site, pick up his new car and at going home time I would drive his old car back. Why we didn't just use my car escapes me, maybe Mrs F needed mine.

Anyway when It was my time to go home, grabbed his keys, did a walk round, couple of lights out, washer fluid almost empty, oil level not brill, no spare bulbs. rofl Stopped on way home at a garage, bought some bulbs, washer fluid, risked the oil level, it was above minimum, tyre pressures not sparkling either. Afterwards when mentioned admitted he had never lifted the bonnet in three years. Admitted proudly as if it was something clever. Not much car sharing after that.

Then you had one of my vehicles, looked after it as if it was my own, the final time it went in the garage before replacement the service desk let slip that all those scheduled services booked by the leasing company had actually been lights and levels checks only. One oil/filter change over three years and 75k of hard welly.

Ex fleet/company car, no thanks.

Leaseloco had a good deal on their website for this model yesterday. Might've been a pricing error, because 2 years was the same price as 4 years. Worth checking though.

I think these are on a 5 month lead for factory orders at the moment. I don't know if that changes things for you.

Thanks- I’ve been speaking to various brokers and dealers and they all have access to the same deal however the latest they can hold a car is until next March which is 3 months too early.

My option is to order and pay an £800 early termination fee in March or
Wait until October and see what deals are available for delivery in June. Just trying to justify the £800 hit

I would wait. Touareg was on offer last year, and this year, so I doubt it will suddenly go up in price. Of course, you will never know.

I leased the golf GTD special offer from Hitachi that is going about.

I have chased up my broker regarding delivery date and was told prior to order that it could by July / August. Then upon order I was told September.

I am worried this could slip again but was wondering if anyone else has ordered and has been told a delivery estimate?
Word on the street is they have been delayed until October. If it was one of the factory order secured stock GTDs you mean. I think the deadline for it to be registered was end of September, I assume they're going to have to keep the discount in place until those cars have been delivered.

I would ask your broker for another update. Who did you use?
Thanks mate yeah it was one of the factory order secured stock. My broker is letstalkleasing and I haven't been able to get them to commit to an updated date.

If it's October then it's October but appreciate the info mate

Anybody who ordered the Cupra Leon VZ3 300 from Leasing Options had a build date yet? Called SEAT earlier, and the confirmed build week is 33 (Week beginning August 16th).

No, it was incorporated into the deal to match the broker.

I still haven't seen it available cheaper elsewhere.

Ours was ordered in May, was a June Build. Just been put back to October build (maybe). Be prepared for a long wait if ordering now.

And it’s not rather naive of you to think that a service is just oil change ? I’m quite sure they give the brakes a quick once over as well !? Guess what they prevent !!

A crash !! FFS

You would be surprised how little gets done on a service.
