I'm in the same dilemma as you. I've not had a car for over year now as I've been working from home but now being told we need to go back to the office so need a car. There's no good lease deals right now and second hand car prices are ridiculous so don't know which option to take.
Been reading about the semiconductor shortage and production might not catch up to demand until 2023 so can't wait that out either.
Might just buy a banger that will see me out for the next couple of years
Yes, my problem is that with the amount of miles I do each year, a banger won't do it for me.I have the flexibility of holding my current PCP car for up to another year but that's starting to get a bit long in the tooth as well on miles so may have to take a bit of a hit. I started to look at maybe doing a 2 year PCP on a year old used (to keep it within warranty) but those prices are not worth it and are about the same as a new PCH.Been reading about the semiconductor shortage and production might not catch up to demand until 2023 so can't wait that out either.

Been looking for a while now as my XC60 (£310 a month back in the day) goes back in a few months. But can't really find any midsized SUV deals that are grabbing me.
Just wondered if anyone had seen anything that jumped out at them at all? Not a brand snob, but quite fancy an X3. But if there's a good KIA or Hyundai deal, I'd be equally interested in that.
Anyway, if anything crops up on your radar, I'd love to hear about it. Ta. x

did my post get removed because it was a deal from lookers? I don't understand, I was genuinely looking for advice.
I'm looking for advice as its the first time I'm potentially going to lease a car, I normally buy used now I'm working from home most of the time I don't want to fork out a big deposit this time round. Looking for a short term lease and wanted to know if this meets the magic 20% number everyone goes on about... by my calculations this 23% so looked like an ok offer.
https://leasing.com/main-dealers/lookers-volkswage.... this was the deal
23 monthly payments of
£316.14 Inc. VAT
Initial payment of
£948.42
(3 x monthly payments +
£0.00 additional fees)
(All prices inclusive of VAT)
- Vehicle value£35,365.00
Total Lease cost: £8219.64
don't mind who the leasing company is to be honest I'll read the fine print when it gets to that stage I just want to know if this is a good deal.
Here's another similar deal from blue chilli car leasing..
https://www.cars2buy.co.uk/personal-car-leasing/de...
I'm also looking at the Rav 4, or the Ford Kuga for those people who are against lookers or VW... genuinely looking for some help.

The Touareg deals are +VAT (for those of you who saw an earlier post on them)
I got a quote through of 6 + 35 at approx £514 a month on 10k mileage. Pure White (free), no options. Lookers Preston.
Its not a mega deal but it seems decent given the current climate. Looking at 2022 delivery - Feb/March.
A tad too pricey for me - but LeaseLoco equivalent is 86/100 for numbers which are slightly more - so maybe getting close to 90/100.

That looks like an ok deal to me considering the current climate, so as long as it isn’t a misprice I would be making enquiries ASAP. A sub 25% 2 year deal is worth grabbing if the car works for you. I got the following response, it looks like that price is legit
Good Afternoon, Thank you for your enquiry. The advertised price is based on solid Pure White paint which is a no cost option, Metallic paint is a £635 option. The current factory lead time is approx 32 weeks (8 months), we don't have any physical stock available. Would you like a personalised quote either with or without any additional colour or options?
Unfortunately 8months wait is the deal killer.
Inspired by the earlier posts about the Volvo V60 I have approached Santander about alternative specs and engines and received the follow:
B4P R-Design, 0+36 & 10k miles, £400.94
B5P R-Design, 0+36 & 10k miles, £459.56
Both based on standard spec and free white paint option. Factory order with delivery estimated between Oct & Dec.
I work those out to be 37.5 & 40.8 % perspectively. Not sure if that’s a “fistable” deal or not.

Just looking for some advice on a potential first lease after the wife’s 1.0 EcoBoost Focus fell victim to the EcoBoom issue so we need a new vehicle pretty quickly. With brokers, is the advertised deal price the accepted price or is there room for negotiation with them?
I’ve been keeping an eye on this thread and LeaseLoco for the last couple of weeks but nothing’s really captured me yet – probably because deep down I’m wishing for an X3 on a 3 + 35 for £300/month!!
That’s never going to happen so, Ideally, I’m looking for a family-sized hatchback or a small-mid sized SUV based on up to £1,500 upfront and a monthly of up to £300. Ideally either a 2 or 3-year term and mileage of 5k – 8k. Is anyone aware of anything particularly eye-catching at the moment?
I’m limited by the fact that we need something quickly so I’ve only been looking at in-stock deals. Currently considering the following, can anyone offer an opinion on these deals or the cars themselves:
Seat Leon
Mazda CX-30
Hyundai Tuscon

Wasn't my post originally, but it was 462 including VAT which turned out to be +VAT - so similar numbers to yours for the same model on the same terms.
