Which Crossover - Vitara, Qashqai, Kuga...
Discussion
Daughter looking for a Crossover - yes I know a hatchback would be better
Budget £3500ish
Must have 5 doors, petrol (all short trips) but relatively economical as she makes a lot of them !
Ideally with a feel good factor like leather seats or some sparkly bits (you can see this isn't my area)
A quick look shows that the Qashqai seemed to win a lot of awards and the Tekna comes with leather and some have a panoramic roof so that seems the obvious choice, unfortunately £3500 won't get the 2010 facelift in that spec.
Is there anything better / prettier, smaller would be a bonus too.

Not the Nissan... Their reliability is very poor.
Is an older CRV in budget?
Is it - I just assumed they were faultlessIs an older CRV in budget?
The pre 08 CRV is but they're pretty cheap and nasty the 08 model is just in budget but with no sparkles
We had an x-trail for dogs and bikes. Had a new rear calliper almost every year - 4 callipers fitted. Mate had one too which also ate rear callipers.
Ours put a rod through the block at 130,000 miles.
In that time... New injectors, new fuel pressure sensor, new fuel pump, endless bushes, forever needing tracking re-aligning
It squeaked and rattled like a car twice its age.
In contrast, we have a 14 plate CRV, which has been faultless in the 2 years we've owned it.
It's the dullest car ever made - it really is white goods - but it just works and is perfect for dogs, tip runs, mtb trips...but yup... dull as dishwater.

Interesting option but the Soviet style interior and the poor driveability would put her offhttps://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010024...
RAV4 would be my choice, because it won't go wrong.
