They do share the same indicator stalks and that's about as close as they get to a Vauxhall.
Vauxhall Astra engines, no?

Anyway yes apart from that they couldn't be more different biggrin
A move from a corsa to a vx220 is so extreme that it kind of is another brand!

Zafira/Signum/Astra engine in the 2.2 - Lotus designed though so I understand. I bet you never knew they 'added lightness' to the Zafira!

That looks class mate, the S2000 is such a looker.
thank you! yes it is, proper timeless design.

when it comes to S15, they're decent cars but you want a spec-r!

spec-s produces like 160bhp and is dead slow.

Elise for me smile. I was a little nervous before buying as it was a lot of money for a 10 year old+ car but I have no regrets. They also hold their value extremely well, so depreciation over the course of ownership shouldn't be too bad.

VX220 is a good shout if budget can't stretch but personally I can't get on with the looks of them, I think they're far too boxy and the front is horrendous.

I think the Elise does look better, its more mini supercar in the way it looks. The VX can look a bit awkward from some angles.

OP - Not sure you can go wrong with any on your list and a nice problem to have smile I would go test drive them all to make your mind up. I have owned an Elise and recently purchased a lovely S2000. If you don't need space, go for either of these.. As many have mentioned, the Elise and Honda are steadily climbing in price if you buy correctly..

For your budget you may be able to squeeze into a supercharged VX220, more power than the turbo and delivered in a nicer manner. Or if you want a bit more space (luggage and cabin) and a bit more refinement a Cayman.

DC2 was the best FWD of all time, not the DC5.

If you can find a good DC2 .... buy it - there is no reason not to.

There kind of is....a top notch DC2 will now be 10/12k I reckon....

As good as the DC2 is, its getting old........

If we’re talking about DC2s at over 10k, there is no reason not to consider an FD2 Type-R instead.

Even though I recommended the Elise, you can’t go wrong with a DC2, I had one for 3 years which was the longest I’ve owned a car. It was such a good car, with no particular weaknesses, and the engine was hilarious.

I think everyone should own an Elise or variant of (vx220). It's such a different driving experience to anything else. No necessarily better or worse as that's subjective but very different.
However....
The vx220 and I believe the early Elise for me are not an only car kind of car. Yes people do daily them but your shopping being cooked before you get home, scrapping ice from the inside of the windscreen in the winter, water gently dripping in your lap as you drive through a heavy rain storm makes it less fun (but characterful) if you don't have another option....

I dailied a VX220 for three years - not our only family car granted - but I was lucky that I had an uprated heater and lined hardtop. It wasn't 'terrible' but it does take away from the enjoyment of taking it out for a blast at the weekend.

Same here. I only really started loving my VXT when I bought a £200 Corsa as my daily

I think this is true of any car, they always feel much more special when they arent used for normal use.

Im curious to know how guys with VX220s get on with bodywork? Are they a bit of a pain with osmosis? I know parts for the VX220 can be tricky to source and are expensive, but I think you can get cheaper aftermarket parts now?

I used to daily my s2k through the summer and still take it out as much as I can but I did find the same! it wears off after a couple of months.
