Im curious to know how guys with VX220s get on with bodywork? Are they a bit of a pain with osmosis? I know parts for the VX220 can be tricky to source and are expensive, but I think you can get cheaper aftermarket parts now?
There are clam manufacturers out there so that isn't an issue. I'd imagine all the osmosis is now evident on cars that aren't garaged. Mine has a couple of small bubbles underneath the rear lights, but the condensation inside them takes your eye off it!!

You can get them, yes. The guy that has had them fabricated also has CE marked lenses front and rear for sale. As long as you look after your headlights it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Fezzasus over on the VX forum produces lenses, Jon Seal do clams - but for osmosis sand it down and paint it. It is a problem on cars that aren't garaged, or that have had repairs to the GRP.

Personally I ended up much preferring the VX to an Elise - it was only the badge that put people off and frankly fk the badge snobs - it's a Lotus with a Vauxhall badge on it at the end of the day. Great cars and I'm missing mine, but after four years in two VXs it was time to move on to something else. I'm struggling to replace it for less than £40k, though.

I don't think anything can really beat a light car. Its good that parts are still available for these cars as they are very rare, so parts could be an issue.

Looks like you can pick up a 2.2 for about £9k

Yeah, the VX is very light - circa 900kg and mine was about 300whp - I sold it for £13k. Down the back straight at Snett it'd pull 145mph. Didn't use brakes or tyres excessively either so was cheap to track. Great cars.

Though I've always wanted to try an S2K, but I'm 6ft1 and I've heard they're a bit tight for taller drivers?

987 Boxster has to be on the cards, surely?

Otherwise Elise - or maybe consider a VX220.
