a new one with the revised engine etc is £53k new(with discount).

2018 with 30k on the clock is about £39k.

2015 is about £31k.

I can't work out the most sensible thing to do. I'd like the new one with the revised engine!

I have a very old G and I think it is time for a change.

I am coming down on a Landcruiser as a replacement too. I've had one (an LC120) before and the only thing that went wrong in 70K miles was a rattling heat shield on the exhaust.

Did you buy one OP?

Looking at trading my 2015 Defender for one now. What lead times are people getting?

Just in case you don’t know about the new change to Toyota’s warranty scheme. I’ve got a 2016 LC which just went in for a full service. Got a letter a couple of days later saying that the warranty had been extended for another year FOC. Apparently if you service your Toyota with a franchised dealer, they keep on extending the warranty FOC up to 10 years. Worth knowing if you plan on keeping a vehicle longer than a few years.

Peace of mind, but to be fair nothing at all has ever gone wrong with it.

We got 10% off our Defender 110 240 HSE, granted that was back in October 2020

That was a quite well loaded stock car, extras included metallic paint, off road pack, black pack, fancy diff, off road tyres, split rim wheels ( which is an option now) privacy glass , full comms pack with wi-fi, blah blah blah

Excellent value and the car seems to be holding up well too

I've been offered the 2020 list price for it if I wanted to trade it in for a new Landrover but nothing else win range gives us the boot space we require

Having seen it at the festival of speed, my money would go on the Ineos Grenadier

Have you tried Marshalls or Hendy's directly?

One chap I work with (we are all veterans) is always talking them up. If you dare say anything negative about JLR he gets a strop!

I've had no experience of them, am gassing for a C63 so different apples
Forces Cars Direct are also worth a chat. The owner is a decent enough chap.

Good luck.

Just can’t see them replacing it with emissions regs in Europe. Will be the Jimny moment for Toyota ?

Not at all, they're working on a whole new model. Its a great global seller for Toyota.

yes, the new 300 series is out overseas, there's a new Prado due in the next 18 months.

Do you have any links to where I can find further info on the Prado replacement? I'm thinking of getting a new LC as a keep-it-forever family bus but am in no hurry. If the replacement promises to be significantly better I can happily wait.
