Exactly. smile

Normal, fast road use, yup, fantastic all rounder for the price.

If someone wants to do something over and above that, there are options.
That's all I'd be wanting from a car, just a fast daily really smile
Thats what ours is. Its used for commuting, dump runs, shop runs, ferrying family members about, and the odd cross country sprint when the roads are quiet. driving

Post late 2015 / 2016 onwards its 380BHP.

That later model is the one to aim for.

And yes, its manic but not terribly involving.
My Dad test drove the earlier one yes, I think probably a 2014/2015 car.

An M2 is £10k more though.
It is. If someone wants a small BMW for track days then that would be my preferred choice. I didnt say it was the same price?

An M140i with an LSD and some suspension tweaks might be suitable for tracking.
Well if money is no object then I'd say an M2 GTS would be a better prospect but I don't see what any of that has to do with this thread.

You seem determined to have an argument?

I said "If i was looking a track day small BMW, i'd go for an M2.", which was a throw away quip, not one to be considered with forensic analysis.

I'm sure you'll now find something else to take out of context to pick over.

Not sure what you thought was at all argument worthy. I was merely asking what relevance an M2 had, take it however you like.

I already gave you the relevance, but to elaborate - if i was looking to track a small BMW, i'd personally go for an early M2 as a base rather than say a late model M140i + £5K of mods

Does that satisfy you or do you want to continue picking holes?

So apart from suspension and LSD, does anyone think that an M140i needs anything else or are they good enough with those modifications?

Brake pads, subframe and diff bushes, underbody brace.

Nice to have . Decent exhaust, gearbox map if auto , remap, spacers

What exhaust would you recommend?

Intercooler as the standard ones can suffer with heat soak on hot days, K&N replacement filter remap & an exhaust or even a back box adds a nice note.

M3 arms are a nice addition too.

If I was to take the M140i to stage 2 I'd be changing intercooler, intake and the entire exhaust system. M3 arms definitely worth it you reckon?

Don’t they have a water charge cooler?

I hear remus is very popular and sound great but aren't they quite pricey?
