In my recent experience WBAC are beating all comers at the moment. I wonder how long it will last. Will September reg affect things? The end of summer? Or will it just go on and on?! I cashed in while the going was good!
This is the issue, due to restricted supply there wont be many new registrations.

Spoke to local audi dealer (Coulsdon Audi) he said at the moment they have 10 non-audi cars on their forecourt and he can see it getting to the point where the non-audis are the majority of their forecourt as cant get cars.
Local Norrhwest Audi dealers have no used Audis in stock whatsoever and with lead times on even basic new TiTis at c9months this situation will only get worse.

Situation similar across most new car dealers.

As an aside used car retailers still desperate for stock. E.g. Motorpoint normally have around 150 used Astras most ex rental but atm they have just 1. This is driving prices to all time highs with 3 year used being 50% more expensive than in Feb/March this year.

Bought my UP GTI in May for £12.2k from a dealer

WBAC offered £12.4k last week - I offered it back to the dealer I bought it off for £12.4k which he agreed to

WBAC upped the offer to £12.7k this morning

I wont go back on my deal with the previous dealer, but what a crazy market.

I wasn't looking to sell, I like the car but selling and then leasing seems a cost-effective route at the moment

I am leasing a new Seat Mii electric for £162 a month instead
Chances are WBAC might have knocked you down a couple of hundred as mentioned in the post above yours. Then there's the fee for quick payment which most peole go for . So overall you'd likely have been about the same.

Staggering to be able to change you mind on a car and walk away ahead!

WBAC valued my WRX at £2950 two years ago. It’s now at £5000. Cinch offering £6800 PX.

Bought my up gti in May for 11k from a dealer (7.5k miles) and just checked today - I’m not selling it, but WBAC is offering 2k more than I paid for it. I’m almost tempted as it is a not unsubstantial amount of money, but I love the car, and it’s a temporary ‘new normal’.

2015 car, and not a big mileage either, maybe 180,000km or so. So far it's needed a full top-to-bottom engine rebuild starting from a brand-new block, a new turbo, a new DPF and this year a starter motor, and just this week another AGM battery and something to do with the boost control solenoid system. He plans to sell up as he can't trust it anymore.

Stuck my Golf details into WBAC and they said £8,820.

Increased from £7,000 last year.

Paid £12,000 for it two years ago and 30,000 miles less.

Do WBAC have knowledge/access to the spec of the car being offered? I've got two highly specced cars and interested in whether the price reflects that, or if I was a mg and should have just got the base car and made loads of money?

Example, our X3 has £8k worth of options on it and we've been offered £3k less than we paid at the back end of last year.

No - they don't take options into account on their valuations. The guy I spoke to said it didn't make any difference to the price I would be offered. In that case you may be better off trying Motorway or Wizzle as for these you can list the options and dealers will bid on that basis

Just sold a 3 year old Mercedes C200 Cabriolet, BMW offered a trade in value, WBAC bettered that by a few thousand and Mercedes matched WBAC no quibbles...

I was pleasantly surprised to be exiting a PCP deal a year early with what I consider significant equity (effectively a years free motoring). I spoke to the guy collecting the car, he seems to imply this is a short run blip and to make hay while the sun shines. Much as I will miss the car and have to wait a while for it's replacement I am happy with the result.

Someone else mentioned using Wizzle, they failed to impress, gave an insulting (compared to the others) offer and then the decent M4YM one didn't have a working phone number, the process seemed great the reality a bit of a joke...

Wizzle is just a portal - you "advertise" your car, and dealers who have signed up to the service make bids. You also get instant (automated) offers from some of the big car-buying groups.
When I used Wizzle, I added the price that I was looking for (slightly above the current WBAC offer), and had a bid at my asking price within a couple of hours.
I also got an email from Wizzle, saying that as I'd been offered my asking price, my car would be taken off the system.

I suppose that it's possible that a competitor is playing games, trying to give Wizzle a bad reputation by winding up customers?

To me, the Wizzle model seemed to be much easier for the seller. No need to take the car along for an appraisal and risk being knocked down. No admin fees for on the spot payment. It was a very simple process in my case.

I can imagine it being a bit of a problem for buying groups that are looking for auction stock though. Probably not very popular with dealers that like to under offer for part exchanges either.
