Best car for 2 mile track with 40% gradients, rocky surface?

A panda 4x4 of any age will hop over all that like a mountain goat. The car of choice in mountainous regions of France and Italy. Go for a cross if you want extra protection and off road ability.
Panda wouldn't climb the rocky 1 in 2.5 sections though. A 2014 Land Rover 90 JUST made it today. In low ratio 4wd first gear. Panda would be toast.Edited by BroadsRS6 on Thursday 24th June 17:15

I was going to suggest a tank or an armoured personnel carrier but I see someone's already linked to similar
Will you AirBnB the place?
AirLiftBnB? Transition day would be like the Fall of Saigon. Will you AirBnB the place?
My wife and I were looking at accommodation in Skye a couple of years ago and came across a cottage described as the perfect getaway - no mobile phone signal, no wifi, no power - you drove and met someone in your car, who then took you to the house in their 4x4. They provided a CB radio and it stated you'd have to check in daily to let them know all was ok.
Same place I wonder?
2 miles of road improvement would cost countless thousands. I want the access road to stay impassable to 99% of people. The idea is for it to be one of the very few places on Skye not jammed full of cars, motorcycles and caravans. Traffic and tourism has rocketed the past decade or 2. This place needs to stay in the middle of nowhere. Idyllic. I want Eagles and Dolphins not people!

You'd be surprised, especially by an old one. They weigh bugger all, and are remarkably effective off road. It's ground clearance and less aggressive tyres that's their weak point.

Makes sense, but a blob of tarmac or two on the worse bits might help you out (and is far enough away from the main road so Joe Public won't see it).I was on Skye about 5 6 weeks ago, was lovely and quiet
Have fun whatever you do :beers:

I’d probably pick this:

Although a bit expensive to ruin!.
