Ive just ordered and take a sept delivery of a new Corolla 2.0 GR Sport estate in Manhattan grey (primer gray basically)

Ive liked the look of them since they came out and after a test drive of the 1.8 I was impressed, the 2.0 though is considerably quicker and more flexible a powerplant

Don't hold your breath for September. I've ordered a 1.8 Sport Tourer Excel in April, advised due beginning of July. Still not here and no known ETA.
Well you were right about September!

Collected mine yesterday! Worth the wait though; lovely family car

Glad to hear you like it. Still cant get used to getting over 50 mpg at 75 leptons on motorway trips... Manchester to blandford was £25 each way... Thats 215 miles each way.

Couple of weeks back I bought a new 1.8 Icon Tech Touring Sports.

Fine. Very nice. Very smooth. etc.

Isn't it complicated?

How far will the car go without the key being in the car? Does the key have to be in proximity?

Let us say, that you 'power' on with the key in your pocket, then leave the key behind for some reason - other scenarios are available, perhaps you power on and get out of the car, Burglar Bill gets in - how far would the car go without the key being in the car?

Ref the key. On my Lexus, if the car is switched on, the car beeps if you walk away from it when you have the keys in your pocket.
My key is able to be 'locked' when in the house so a Faraday pouch is not needed.
I haven't tried it, you could try this.
Have both locked keys in your hand, and then unlock one of them. Unlock and start the car. Walk back into your home and leave that key in the house. Walk back to the car (which should still be running) with the locked key in your pocket and drive away, and then switch off. Try and start. If it doesn't, unlock the key in your pocket and try. Hopefully it will!!
