Best estate car for 5-7k?

The BMW's will be the better steers if that's a priority then maybe they're the car for you, for me the Mercedes are effortless BMW's for me feel more busy, the Mercedes also have the nicer ride & interior.

The E Class is the pick it's a clear step up in quality from the C Class & from what you say the C Class will be to small.

Understood! I've just been offered an E320CDI Avantgarde estate with 140k. 55 plate so apparently it's the 3.2V6 and it has a 7 speed auto box. New turbo 2k ago, new brakes and suspension in the last 6k miles, 1 previous owner from new. Wants around 2k for it.

Do you know anything about these? Sounds a bargain on the face of it, just waiting on pics...

That is a good price, but in my opinion you would do better to pay more for a newer, facelifted S211. They made many quality improvements on the facelift including getting rid of the dreaded SBC pump.

I do think the S211 is still a very handsome car.

It can't be a 3.2 as they stopped in 2004 & they're a straight 6 good engine but if it's a 55 plate it should be a 3.0d V6, make sure the suspension has been refreshed because with that mileage if it hasn't it'll soon need it.

Thanks, seems a good price regardless considering it's just had 3k spent on it and he wants 2k wasn't expecting to spend that little though, we'll see. Addicted to AutoTrader at the mo.
