I've never heard of a broker charging a documentation fee or such a big broker fee.
Wonder if dealers can match this?
I just sent email to two dealers from Berry group asking if they can provide the same offer, since it's BMW Finance. Don't have other fleet BMW contacts. I guess, I could try Milton Keynes, who delivered my Z4 from Zen.
This would have been my other suggestion. TRL deals would be my only other point of contact to get an M car. Def worth the try. Everyone else seems near the £1-1.2k pcm mark.

Response from TRL is: "That’s a great deal so I would take that offer." So it doesn't look like they can match it.

It's probably best to check potential cost of insurance before ordering M2. Admiral group is £1000 for me and anything else £2400 with £750 excess. I paid £500 for my "normal" car in March.

Hello all...been a long time since I darkened the doors of the lease thread (mostly to disucss the 840i GC deal that I got for £299pcm back in 2020 and then had to cancel due to Covid!).

I'm considering an EV for family duties and there seems to be a fair few EVs that pop up on lease. Right now the Lexus RZ looks like it might do us quite nicely (or an EQC, or Ariya, but I favour the Lexus at a glance), but do people here think that it's better to buy a 2 or 3 year old EV and just run a Model 3 or an Enyaq, or are the newer EVs better by enough of a margin to justify paying the lease costs (which I assume will be higher than 2 years of depreciation on a used EV). Any other EV deals out there? Sadly an M2 wont' work for family duties...

Who was the founder for X7, I wonder if it's the same finance company for M2. I sent enquiry.

Did you get info what they need for finance approval? VWFS needed only credit check, Zen auto wanted my payslip. I'm currently "unemployed", so would prefer simple credit check.
Whats the X7 deal?

Really depends what premium you consider for a new car. I'd say a 2 or 3 year old Model 3 Long Range would be better EV in most ways than a Lexus RZ or Merc EQC. Better range, better tech, cheaper to run, faster, better charging network etc. Doesn't have the same driving position of course, and boot space will be a bit less and won't be a car new, which can also be important if you are buying via a company.

I too would be interested. Current XC90 is due to go back in June. Have been offered the same monthlies on a 12 month extension with the option to break with 28 days notice. Currently paying £575 so May have to stick with the barge boat for a little longer until a decent deal comes around

Yeah, and Model Y prices are presumably going to fall somewhat over the coming months as well so maybe sit tight. Really difficult to decide what to do.

For context we have an 8kwh solar panel job on the roof and ended up sending back a lot of energy to the grid last year, and I'm keen to use that free power (we get under 5p per unit exported), but I don't want to spaff thousands of pounds up the wall on a car that'll depreciate so fast.

I cast around on the used market and a Kia EV6 or Skoda Enyaq seemed a decent bet, though a Model Y probably ticks the boxes best (as we'll be getting a big dog fairly soon). BUT I'm drawn to the new shiny shiny of a lease deal and, frankly, I just dislike Tesla styling and image, though i can probably get over that.

Just realised how good a lease deal is over buying a decent car . First of all it’s a complete fking pain in the arse to try and sell a car and I think my blood pressure increases every time I have to deal with a complete idiot of a buyer.

Just yesterday a complete spanner offered me a Cat S Mitsubishi outlander as a straight swap for my BMW and then got all arsey about it when I said no.

Then there’s the numerous issues with maintenance, having a new car is just so much less time consuming then spending every few months buying parts at Euro or the local stealer when you do high mileage

In the future I will either be shedding (plenty of cheap gems under £2k) , leasing decent metal or getting a car on a good PCP deal. 4 months in and I still haven’t sold my car, facing having to take a bath on it or take a silly offer , regret going PHEV and doing high mileage as it seems the car is very undesirable (2017 330e with full BMWSH)
I sold my 2017 330e with 52k miles, got £14k but did take 4 weeks to shift. Guess depends what you think is a silly offer.

For once a BMW on a personal deal.
Albeit a luxury 7seat SUV and still fairly heavy per month. Its cracking monthly compared to pcp and usual lease monthlies by nearly half.

Broker Fee - expensive but whatever... some will pay it.
Documentation Fee - road tax & delivery are included by the lender, so this seems very misleading. I think what it actually covers is another £250 profit on top of the £500 biggrin

It’s extortion. I’ve yet to pay any fees for a lease.

Some just wrap it in the deal so it looks like zero fees. Others list it separately. Dealers more flexible than brokers.

It’s hardly Dick Turpin. Depends whether you’d rather pay fees and lower monthlies or zero fees and higher monthlies.

If dealers and other brokers can’t get close then you’ll have to take it on the chin.

Very rarely is there just one funder offering the lowest prices. Those charging fees are one I will avoid, if they are all advertising as such then I would push for the fees to be waived, it’s often done when a sale is on the line. The result is mone saved. That being said, with Audi it’s the dealers offering the best prices so there is no worry there

Feel like I’m in a good position to answer this as we have a 23 plate VW ID3 Tour Pro S on lease and I recently purchased a 70 plate Model 3 LR. I much prefer the Model 3 to the ID3. The ID3 is a nice enough car but the Model 3 just feels more special. They both have 77kwh batteries and give similar range (Model 33 is better in the winter due to the heat pump) but the Model 3 is ALOT faster!

Tesla offer a 4 year 50k warranty so I still have 7 months warranty left and can simply create a claim on the app and they send someone out to look at the car - not done this yet but will give it a thorough check before the warranty ends.

Hi

My mercedes eqc is due to arrive on Friday I jumped on the carparison deal. Just a quick question but what value are people putting the car is worth when doing there insurance?

Basically I've put the registration in on go compare and there's an automated price of the vehicle that says £37000 but on my quotes I've been putting in £65000 as that's what I thought the car is worth.

This might seem a daft question but if anyone can help I appreciate it.

Also can anyone recommend a good place for gap insurance I've used ALA in the past

Many thanks

£579 inc VAT, on a 9+23 for 5k miles.

That's a £110k 500bhp premium hybrid SUV... unless this is similar to that 840i GC from a few years back, I'm not even 5% confident those figures are accurate.

I've applied anyway, even though the vehicle is giant and ugly, for that price I won't be too bothered.

Whatever value your put in the quote, you will only get market value in case of the claim. Gap insurance sale is almost stopped, so consider buying it by the end of the month. Few providers are still selling it.

Are there any lease companies which will allow a useful mileage, ie 18,000 rather than the pointless 6,000 pa? That is without trebling the advertised price?
