Hi - have Nationwide confirmed that build date with you? I went for the same deal back in October and have had the build date updated on the Nationwide online account to mid September also. However, when I called Nationwide to enquire further they actually said that the build date has not been confirmed. My current lese is up in July and VWFS are now telling me they no longer offer an informal extension for those with vehicles on order with the VAG group, instead I have to go with a formal 6 or 12 month extension.
Dear me, not good customer service. You could see if they'll let you buy your current VWFS car now you are inside final 3 months: https://www.purchasemyvehicle.co.uk/

Strange. My lease is up end of May. VWFS just offered me an informal 6 month extension on the same terms. I have another car in order with them. They also say if it’s not arrived in 6 months I can informally extend for another 6 months.

VWFS have historically required that informal extensions of 6 (or 12 months) are only for customers with another car on order that is funded by VWFS. A nationwide funded replacement vehicle wouldn’t usually be eligible. Check your original agreement to see what the small print says about informal extensions.

It used to be that 3 months was the maximum possible informally for people without a replacement on order. Unless you went for a formal 6 or 12 month extension.

My Kodiaq was extended informally by VWFS for 9 months in January. I was given a date for the replacement (Sportline) of July and have sent a few emails to the dealer but no reply or update.

With the current cost of living, I've made the decision to hand the current car back now and cancel the order. I can't see any mention of penalties in anything I've been sent but wondered if anyone had any experience of handing a car back early that's been informally extended or cancelling an order before any build date or update has been received. Requested a call back this morning but not heard anything from them today.

Having leased for nearly 20 years, it's time to duck out for a few years (not that the grass is much greener on the other side!)

I asked if I could cancel the new order without penalty, even if I’m only a month into an informal extension. I was told I could cancel anytime from order date, up to delivery of the new vehicle, with no penalty.
That’s not to say all deals will be the same but mine is

That's £14,364

I'm not sure about spec etc but, Leasing has them at £12500 with no fees from Stoneacre Chesterfield.

Have been thinking about cancelling my Tucson ordered back in Feb as I'd still not had even a vague delivery timescale. Just had a message today to say it's in the next batch due mid-end July.

Yesterday though I came across this which I thought was a decent deal on the Tucson Nline S - spoke to them and they have a few colours available for delivery in July ("Must be delivered in July")

HYUNDAI TUCSON ESTATE
1.6 TGDi 48V MHD N Line S 5dr 2WD DCT

1+47, 5k p/a
£335 per month

Extra £32 per month for maintenance

Had my order confirmed for a Peugeot 308 GT 1.2 petrol. Going from my Megane at 280hp to 130 will be a little disappointing but with the sky high lease payments on the alternatives (this is already going to cost £70 more a month) and the Pug looking exceptionally nice, I think I'll be happy with the car. I am certainly glad to have the problem of what car put aside for the next 3 years.

Fingers crossed you have more luck getting the car ,this bunch of chancers still have my deposit despite canceling in December and repeated emails saying the deposit would be back in my account soon.
interesting you should say that, I've had no issues and they are generally well reviewed on here, lots of good experiences
Had another " deposit will be returned conversation last week"
,still no deposit, taking it up with trading standards now.
Deposit finally returned, hope you car arrived, that is a great deal!
Yes thanks, had it a couple of weeks now, no issues at all, really pleased with the deal too in the current climate. Glad you got your money back.

Thanks for the reply. On the back of this I rang VWFS today and spoke to a different operator - informal 6 month extension agreed with no hassle at all. Perhaps whoever I spoke to yesterday was having an off-day.

For anyone else who ordered the Skoda Kodiaq Sportl Line from Nationwide in October I've also had a further updated from them regarding delivery: "It has no build at the moment, until it gets build we won't know for sure. I am saying 1 year lead time on most of these so think Sept unlikely. I would think it would be Dec onwards."

End of Contract - Returning Vehicle Query

I am approaching the end of my SEAT agreement, and would like to seek clarification on what my obligations are before returning the vehicle.

The vehicle was registered on the 8th August 2019 and will require it's 1st MOT on this date.

From the FAQ's, I can see it advises that the collection agents will contact myself directly around 6-8 weeks to arrange a convenient time for the inspection and collection of your car.

If the vehicle is returned before the above date; is it my responsibility to have the car MOT done before it is returned?

Thanks in advance,

There will be a clause in your contract. Mine from Kia reads

"You will submit the Vehicle for MOT testing at an approved garage prior to the expiry of any test certificate (or prior to the date
required by law), and agree to submit the Vehicle for all other testing required by law from time to time."

I'm on a 2yr lease so not relevant. So for a 3yr lease I imagine it would be, unless I chose to return it 1 month early I imagine.

Just ring once a month up until it ends, worst case is that the price stays the same, best case is they carry on with your current price.

have you factored in your initial monthly lease that was perhaps x9 the base lease?
