Looking for advice on what used car to buy.

I currently have a 07 plate Nissan Qashqai Tekna which is great but it’s not in the best condition and doesn’t have Bluetooth/aux which is a problem for me.

I only drive around 3000 miles a year so have been warned against Diesel’s and to stick with Petrol.

I’d like to stick with SUV style car as need a higher up car and decent boot space.

I’d like the dash not to appear old/dated which I find my Nissan has. Age isn’t an issue but I’d like it to have at least all the following features -

- Bluetooth
- Sat Nav
- Parking Sensors

Any other features are a bonus but not essential.

I’m looking to spend up to £3000 give or take
Buy a Bluetooth FM transmitter, pocket £2980.

Cars are overpriced at the moment.

I’d say stick with what you have if it’s reliable and save more. You could look at getting a Bluetooth car kit or see if you could change head unit in the meantime.

I have an old tom tom sat nav that you can have, get a blue tooth adapter and stay put.

£3k is just buying a st load of trouble in current market; given how inflated used car prices are.

Stick, don’t twist for now!

£3k wont get you what you're asking for especially now with the car market the way it is at the moment. You'll have to up your budget.
There's a few cheap solutions that work really well for adding Bluetooth to a car that doesn't have it so wouldnt worry too much about that

Could get a Nissan Juke (Acenta) if you can stretch your budget, modern looking inside and has bluetooth.

If you don't mind a bigger engine I'd look at a Lexus RX300/RX300H - not exactly modern looking but comfortable, reliable(ish) and has all the toys you're asking for.

There are a load of cars that will have those features but not as a crossover (sorry but that's the correct term because an SUV is based on a truck and a crossover is based on a a car- a standard car on stilts if you will).

I think with that budget and given the age, you won't really be able to lament any interior looking 'dated'.

A Chevrolet Captiva (as well as others but lower down - Orlando, Cruze) or even a Citroen C4 Picasso (okay it is an MPV but will have height and boot space) should have the toys you are looking for assuming the trim level is the right one - I'd check some older car reviews on YouTube though, but like others on here it's probably best you just buy a bluetooth kit off tinternet and look after your current car. You're going to struggle with 3k these days unless you're prepared for a bit of possible DIY motoring.

Also I personally wouldn't bother looking for a sat nav in an older car as it'll be outdated. They're not really features anymore given smartphones' advances. Using Google Maps really is the quickest, easiest and best option, plus you can factor things in on your journey like traffic conditions, petrol stations and supermarkets as part of the route. Also you likely won't end up driving into a forest or towards a weir with Google Maps.

If you do find something then let us know. Would be interesting to see what you get.

The simple & easier answer is to buy a new stereo that has Android Auto/Apple Carplay & you'll get it all in one unit:

Pioneer SPH DA230 DAB

You can add a reverse camera to this & have parking sensors fitted by the audio shop that fits the stereo.
