I suppose they are a good car. But it’s finding one that’s been well maintained. As it’s complicated and won’t be cheap. I’m quite intrigued by the Honda Legend. Has anyone any experience of them? As I’ve had a Honda Accord and Civic and they were great.

I was just about to post a Jaguar XJ.

The latest XJ's are getting reasonable as well.

Audi A7-A8?
15 k would get you a nice new shape Mondeo. But my vote would go for a Skoda Superb.

ETA: one like this
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

I was also considering a Phaeton a few years ago. Somehow ended up in a Discovery 4
I digress
If I were after something like this, I think I would go for the Lexus ls600hl. The Swiss guy with the Phaeton on YouTube also had one of those.

Sorry I read your budget as 15k. There are some available for 7k ish with high miles, although I wouldn't let that put you off if they have been maintained well!

I think I have short listed it to either a

Honda Legend
Mercedes E Class
Jaguar XF S Premium Luxury
Subaru Legacy - these are not premium but I’ve always liked them as they are quite a rare sight, especially the Estate.

I went Phaeton

Had it 8 months and put 8k miles on it. Now on 71k
No issues to report really
Just currently needing a exhaust temp sensor for £80. But runs fine regardless

One has just been mentioned on FB with low mileage
Incidentally mine is the high tax bracket but not all of them are. Depends on year

It looks lovely. How much is a service from VW or a Specialist if you don’t mind me asking? Also any major parts that have been replaced? Before you owned it?

It was around 300 for the service I had. Changing all filters etc. I also paid to have gearbox oil and diff oil changed.
There isn’t anything unusual in the drive train for a large VAG car. Obviously air suspension could be expensive but that applies to any similar set ups. I’ve not heard particularly of failing boot mechanics but rather broken wiring where it opens and closes but again not happened to me.
It is quite a complex car I guess but aren’t all Luxo barges.

I’m very happy with it so far and like the rarity too..

A friend of mine sent me a 2009 Saab 9-3 with 44k on for £6k. Any good? It’s a manual Vector Sport.
