Anyone been given waiting time on new LR Discovery?

Given the state of used prices, I'm 90% decided to do what I've never done before and order a new car.....I'm thinking the car we've landed on Discovery 5, is bang on for family duties for 4 to 5 years so we'll get our monies worth. Has anyone ordered recently and what lead time have you been given ? The dealers I am talking to seem quite vague - October (ish), which may in fairness to them, be the only thing they can say !

I also read on a few sites that there is a longer wait for the D250 than the D300 which seems odd ? Any one know why this might be, I was wondering if it's the level of orders as the D300 is about £6k more expensive, which may be driving order to the D250 I guess...

Any experiences welcomed....

One thing to be aware of as it's a bit of a deal breaker for some is that most JLR models will be coming with an analog dash rather than the VR one.

An opinion rather than an experience OP but I reckon that them saying 'October ish' means that they've already sold their 2022 allocation and can't get anymore. Your order will come our of their 2023 allocation and so the actual delivery time would be more like spring 2023 at the earliest.

Try to have a frank convo with them around this point - they may not give much away pre-order, but worth a try

Thanks ZX. So are you saying the one that actually arrives, will be more like the 2019 model, i.e. one screen in the centre column and different dials. The one in the showroom was digital ?

Yes but it hasn't been every car so I'm saying check because I've had clients told that it's analog only & I had an RRS last week that had the VR as well as a Discovery that had analog.
