I dislike sunroofs of all sorts, because as a bottom feeder they usually mean leaks, rust, rattles, blocked drain holes, and jammed mechanisms.
That said my X351 XJ has one and it's a bit of a cave in there with the shutter closed so I can see why they fitted it to them all. It must be even worse if you have the black headlining. Obviously it rattles and has corrosion on the frame, it hasn't leaked or jammed yet though!
Maybe I've been rolling double sixes, but I've never had one which leaked. Closest to a problem one was on the W211 when it got stuck due to poor lubrication, whacked a can of lithium grease in there and it was fine after. That said my X351 XJ has one and it's a bit of a cave in there with the shutter closed so I can see why they fitted it to them all. My 2003 V70 used to leak, my '97 Rover 800 coupe, and I've owned loads of other shed cars with the thing sealed shut with gaffa tape.
Still love a sunroof though but a rare option nowadays.
A couple of S-Classes...as Derventio had me down the rabbit warren of Merc minibarges, I ended up at full size.
A sunroof (seem popular today even though it's been peeing down all day) and a Nokia! (beat that, eh!)

And Gerald in his Nike Air Max's, only a haggle away from thread.

It's a friday, so please forgive me. In my search for a fast estate car, my budget has crept up to circa £20k.
I've narrowed it down to 2 cars:
1) BMW 2016 340i Touring with 62k miles
or
2) Audi S6 Avant - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202209220...
I'm going to look at the BMW tomorrow morning with a view to buying.
Whilst the S6 is probably the more impressive car, I feel the BMW is the safer bet.
In a perfect world, I'd prefer a Mercedes E63 estate but not within budget. I want something that is less than 8 years old, with a view to keeping it for 4 years or so, with minimal spending outside of normal servicing.
With my criteria, any other suggestions please?

Rare car but surely for that budget you'd just get an S Class.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208249...
That's actually a smashing spec car, proper extended leather not the plastic crap, massage and pneumatic rear seat adjustment, rear AC and entertainment. LIke an S600 with a third of the engine missing that is.

I assume no linky to the 340i to keep the unscruitable amongst us at bay (I can only wish for your budget!!)I've narrowed it down to 2 cars:

Think you've covered the sensible choices already, but
Leftfield choice: Polestar V60

lower your E63 aspirations to C43. Must be some haggle room to sort the cosmetics?
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206076...
or 340i's big bro 540i

Happy viewing tomorrow!

That car was for sale a few times on ebay ages ago (a year perhaps) with the same photos which seems strange if it's as good as it looks.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202210241...
