Don't worry, you will not need the AA to collect you in this car, it will keep going, that engine would get you home if all of the wheels fell off but you would probably need putting in a padded cell with a tight jacket if you tried daily'ing it.

Jokes aside-as said, it's going to GT1 soon so I will know what's up. I will be transparent on here and threadist's get first dibs. Promise.

This thread is a nightmare, I am generally averse to Audi's but that RS6 looks tempting. I love those seats. I am thinking about calling him later

I reckon dailying it is exactly what it needs. Love to be used these things. You’d be amazed the cars I’ve collected with loads of warning lights that gradually lose them on a good long drive home.

I was of a similar anti-Audi persuasion and then due to circumstance bought a C6 A6 with the supercharged v6 and the Audi speciality four wheel drive.

I absolutely loved it.

BTW, doesn’t the RS6 share the same engine as the Cayenne?…

They are different engines as well as their capacity.

This looks really rather nice. Can recommend the seller, too - what do we think?

Quite unusual in red but it looks pretty good. I guess we could be sniffy about the titchy engine but that looks like a decent buy to me.

Random Sunday, apparently I let a friend's son borrow these ramps some time ago, he's doing the sensible thing of leaving the UK, and I'm 8 hours drive from them. They'll probably go on Gumtree FOC but if any threadist is in Bristol and would like them gratis, just let me know. Like me they're old, but still perfectly functional, and much better than the modern ones hehe

Loved my xj40, mine was a 4 litre but nothing wrong with the 3.6. Good cars

IIRC when the 3.6 XJ40 was about the smaller engine was the 2.9

Both then became 4.0 and 3.2 respectively.

The one pictured is the same colour as my old man's, though his had tan cloth, steelies and a keep-fit 'box.

Two grand. Tripling his money or more. "Drives exactly as it should", which for 270k miles will be "like a floppy, tired old thing fit for the scrapper". fk's sake.

Laguna 205 Estate. Late one and 77k on it. 4k, Trader, doesn't seem that far fetched when half that gets the skank bag of Volvo above.

Didn’t get the attention it deserved, imho.

Nice to see Dr. Thorax on the thread, too.

Are we talking about the Volvo, or are we talking about those of us who are retired and are thread lurkers who would consider buying a diesel ? smile

Less lurking more contributing, just tick the petrol box, window shopping is a lot cheaper than running them.

Examples,

Mondeo 3.0, practical 5 door, good for your allotment and tip runs. £2k, cheap tax, and you, like me, will get your state pension upped by 10.1% next month, so more for your bingo night.

E500 saloon. They'll think you've won on a scratchcard despite it being mid thread.

Honda Legend, the tax will irk but think of the savings through pure reliability. Probably. No not, but retirees got time on their hands to tinker if need be. 2.5k is cheap.

This older Legend at 2740 looks fab. Have a feeling it was on a different thread privately at not much less, so poss just traded in.
