On the subject of EVs. I'm seeing more and more Tesla taxis.

I understand the fuel is cheaper, but surely depreciation wise they make no sense. I look at the driver and think "man, surely you're in for a world of pain in a couple of years".

Would there even be a lease deal that would make sense for a taxi?

There was a joke comment about a postman a couple of pages back. Well, my barber has just bought one of those new 240i coupes. Seriously!
My barber bought a brand new RS5 about 3-4 years ago. He was 26 at the time. Owns his own place.

The FTSE 100 which was apparently relevant to this thread a couple of weeks ago isn't looking quite so good now.
I'm sure someone will be along tell me something is quite remarkable blah blah blah last year something something blah blah.

No need to sound belligerent you know. A major bank supporting the tech industry collapsing was always going to send shockwaves. It will be interesting to see what the next few weeks bring.

They were only £400-500 a month with a £2k deposit in 2017/2018 so not exactly a lot of money. Easy to justify if you have your own place and aren't saving for a deposit on top of rent.

Is the fuel cheaper now and will it be in the future? I suspect that operators of public chargers are going to make hay and charge what they want, due to lack of competition. When your range is limited the opportunity to go further afield to find a cheaper, working charger is limited, I would think.

That looks like a M240IXdrive with the basic list price starting at £49130.00.
Yep it was, I didn’t pay too much attention to the price I must admit, I thought it was £42k ish on the price board though scratchchin

Only took a pic of it because a mate is looking at getting a new Z4 in thunder night so sent him the pic

Tesla residuals are actually still very good. They've dropped to be more in line with market but they are probably still better than, say, the equivalent 330e or 530e.

Slightly off topic and not sure if allowed / anyone would be interested, however, after being inspired by many things one being this thread; I created a Chrome extension to show a vehicle's price history on AT (may add PH later) - very handy for checking depreciation. Link here - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/at-price...

I haven't heard that expression for a very long time. You wouldn't be from South Wales by any chance?

It will probably just show the current price (and date) for now below the specs line. But as other people install it and dealers reduce prices it'll appear as below.

Note it may only work on first load and not when you change filters at the moment which is a bit useless I know. But I'm waiting for Google to approve v0.0.2. Hopefully won't be long!

They should all be driving RS6's, 15 pound a pop near me and that was a few years ago. I've done my own since covid.

The Turkish one is good, they burn off your ear hair too hehe

Same here, I find the Turks seem to have a preference for a nice AMG though, they all seem able to afford them, but as you say, £15 for 20mins work is a good return really.

I cut my own hair as well, not just because I am tight, I just hate the whole hair cut experience!!

My old barber had a very nice C63S AMG. He took me out after my cut and let me have a go. Very fun but very juicy!

Nice! I was going to add this to mine. I'll still have a look how they're doing it though wink
