Decent MOT, it’s a Honda so won’t break down. Previous MOTs flag corrosion so make sure check underneath. If all good then buy it
HRV is small inside and very small in rear.
For £2k or less a 7th gen Honda Accord estate with the 2.0 petrol and ideally Executive model for the amazing leather seats and extra toys will be one of the most reliable cars you can get. It also drives well and is easy to maintain.
Even better is the 2.4 petrol, which could probably survive a tactical nuke.
7th gen built in Japan not Swindon.

No DPF.
No Cambelt worries.
Just check suspension mounting points for rot and you’ll have miles of trouble free motoring.
It’s not exciting, but it’s a workhorse that is well screwed together.
Looks good. I'm running a 59 plate of these (facelifted) in 3 trim. Brilliant car, strong engine, comfortable, huge boot. Fabulous. No DPF.

Watch out for VED on the 2.4 petrol after March 2006.For £2k or less a 7th gen Honda Accord estate with the 2.0 petrol and ideally Executive model for the amazing leather seats and extra toys will be one of the most reliable cars you can get. It also drives well and is easy to maintain.

I will have a look at those suggestions. I need to basically carry:

https://www.screwfix.com/p/werner-fibreglass-4-tre...
Wouldn't all that fit in a decent sized hatch, with the rear seats down? Any longer ladders could go on a roof rack.https://www.sgs-engineering.com/4932464244-jobsite...

Looks clean, low mileage, and could be a good hack. Price looks steep for something with a short MOT but the previous MOT's look clean.
Thought you said the guy had promised it to someone else?
And it's based in Lymm which is a very nice area so hopefully they have looked after it.Thought you said the guy had promised it to someone else?
The Octavia in a previous post looks ok.
No interior photos but MOT has only minor stuff and looks like they had the suspension work done straight away.
Buy on condition at this price. Matching tyres is a bonus. SH isn't expected but any is good.
I would be cautious of the Honda.
Corrosion in a few MOTs and you can see it on the rear arches. It may have been tarted up with some issues hidden for sale.
The dealer won't want to spend a lot on it to make any money on a £850 car.
WAs going to recommend this at the same garage
https://www.gumtree.com/p/toyota/toyota-corolla-ts...
but only 3 months MOT, mileage stated wrong on advert (it's done 110k miles+) and there's corrosion advisories at the last 5 MOTs!!!
Maybe stay away from that garage

He did promise it to someone else. He’s now saying the car is undervalued that I had seriously undervalued my car given that I had just spent £1,500 on the replacement engine £400 on 4 new tyres, £150 to have the Tow bar fitted and a further £100 for its annual service & MOT which comes to £ 2,150 and of course I had forgotten to add on the residual value of the car itself which for a 2003 Omega Estate you will find that "we buy any car.com" only value at around £350 which is silly, so yes I should've advertised it as "offers over" £2,500 + the value of petrol in the tank which at current petrol prices is £150 for a full tank of 75 LitresThought you said the guy had promised it to someone else?
I’ve told the Omega seller that I will leave it. Perfect car for me really but I think it would be hiding some gremlins. The HRV is very cheap, which is good. But the rust could be a problem. It’s not that far from me so I may just have a look.
I’ve been using my Dads Nissan Leaf and I can get some things in the boot but then a lot of it lives on the rear seat. I don’t want to damage the leather or dent it which is a problem.
The BMW with LPG has sold which is probably a good thing as I’ve seen a few videos online we’re they have thrown up some rather scary bills..
There are two Volvos that have come up on an alert:

A friend sent me a really unusual car a Nissan Murano. I’ve never seen one. The tax is the highest bracket though which is unfortunate.

Bloody hell mate, you need a cheap to buy, cheap to run, reliable workhorse to help you do your job in as pain free and low cost manner as possible.
Don't buy a big, thirsty, rare, expensive to fix SUV, an old BMW 5 series, even a Volvo V70 at this price bracket, none of that. Focus on mass market cars which sold in plentiful numbers.
Stop fannying about with ropey old Omegas and blingy orange-Cheshire-lass tat like Muranos and all that.
Find the newest thing you can afford, from a boring mass market maufacturer, and buy it on condition and to a lesser extent history.

Your friend is trolling you. It might be worth you doing some research on the cars you see before posting here. It’s easy to check the MOT history, VED and general reviews online
