FWIW, I was recently upgraded to an M40i X3 hire car in Germany.

Handling-wise, I can't comment as I was only on the autobahn.

But I can confirm that it made a lovely noise and shifted along quite nicely biggrin
Thanks Muzzer, good to know

In case you'd considered it, but I had an Alfa Stelvio as a hire car in Spain a couple of weeks ago - don't ... just don't ! It was awful
Ha I did consider that actually. What happened?

The quadrifoglio looks and sounds amazing however from what I've researched, after the novelty wears off, you'll find it's not as refined as the Germans. Would love to drive one though.
It was the 190 diesel that I had for 4 days. I only chose it as I had thought about them in the past and that it was 80E more for the 4 days than my normal choice from RecordGo in Malaga. So my man maths said that's less than 80 quid for a 4 day test drive.

The car had 12k km on it so was still pretty fresh for a rental car.

It was so twitchy, tramlining badly on the A7 and on the AP7. I felt zero confidence in the car, even having the back end stick out on a roundabout without any reason whatsoever. The ride was uncomfortable (and this is from someone who has a X3) and the interior was grim and felt hemmed in ..

So at least I got an answer for 80E .... no thanks !

I love my Stelvio, very happy owner here after 3 years, very light and nippy for an SUV.

I had a Jag F-Pace for hire for a few weeks, drove like an absolute tractor in comparison - hated it.

Horses for courses i suppose.

I suggest a few test drives are in order.
