Compare between two BMW 5 Series - help me make a decision
Discussion
Google the second company and look at the forums.
Their google reviews are largely fake.
They buy cars at auction, tart them up and sell them on. Some are fine, others are not fine and the after sales service is non existant.
Salesman are push wide boy types who won't let you view the car without taking down all your details.
Go with the AUC one

Agreed but at least the dealer is prepared to fix any issues before sale and you get a warranty direct from the dealer.AUCTION......
This lot don't even bother fixing issues or they might at best reset the EML but if (more likely when) you have an issue they have zero interest in helping.
I speak from experience with them.

Ex demo and service cars, ex customer cars traded in, bmw uk used stock from hire or short lease fleet and then finally some will back fill with auction stock.AUCTION......

Dealer aside, I wouldn't recommend the 20i petrol engine - slow and thirsty. The 20d suits the car much better.
Yeh the op might do 50 miles a day but might do 10 miles a week and work from home, so suitability for diesel can't be assessed really. For me a 5 series needs to 30 onwards or I would just buy a better spec 3 series.

Approved one is all of £200 more expensive?!? (Minus whatever Big’s admin fee is?!)
Big Motoring World's admin fee is £199, so it's all of £1 more expensive!Out of those two, I'd get the Approved Used one and not touch the other dealer with a 10 foot bargepole.
Another thing to consider is usage - how many miles a year will you be doing? If not many, then I'd avoid getting a diesel.
