If it were me, I'd cancel the order for the Fiesta, then loan ~£18,500 for 5 years and buy this Alpina D3

Who would he loan the ~£18,500 to? How would him lending someone this money allow him to buy that car?

He's not loaning the money to someone, he's borrowing it from a bank. Not sure you understand how this works.

Is there too much overlap between the new Fiesta and older Focus - they certainly have similar hatchback utility, pace etc? The Focus is of course a little older with the more charismatic power train, but I’d see the Fiesta as a different balance of the same two factors.

Perhaps there is better value and a stronger justification in choosing a combination of cars (or a car?) that meets different needs that are further apart.

Finally, even with other life priorities building positively, I’d put in a word for the flexibility that you get with a self-funded car (either via savings or loan).

Thinking bank loan might work nicely. There’s a few decent options knocking around for the sorts of prices I could get a decent loan for!

Shame the interest rates have gone up. My mate was looking at a Porsche but when I explained the rates are now double what they were when I got out a loan earlier in the year, it put him right off!

Go with your heart, I did & also how many commenting have actually seen or sat in the latest mk8.5 ST3?

Lots of changes all for the better, new seats are mega comfy, performance pack is standard, 5 doors is standard, fully loaded & added the heated seats & st wheel, list goes on.

Mine was delivered from Portsmouth & when it arrived showing 48mpg!!

My previous car RS280 cup pack Megane struggled to see a 3 on mpg, mainly high 20’s.

I tried to get a deal local & no chance so played them at their own game by using DTD broker to get all the kickbacks.

Take the 0% & get a loan for the balloon when due, rates will probably of dropped by then.

I did PCP, £1k down, £3.5k before delivery & day it arrived contacted Ford Finance & paid the balance off, just under 24k all in.

Sod getting a tired old diesel loser

Looks nice G40Steve, stuggling to understand why your deal is £24k but OPs is only £12k (£350x24 + £3800 deposit).

Personally if I could have your car for £12k, brand new, i would not think twice.

I think the £12k is just lease payments, you certainly won't get to keep it just for £12k!

You didn't write "borrow", you wrote "loan".

Who cares, we all understood what he meant.

Definitely cancel the Fiesta, bonkers to have 2 so similar cars. Either get a 3rd hand cheap and cheerful boring motorway mile muncher and pocket the change, or commute in the Focus and get a sports car.

The current base price is £27k with no options according to Fords site, AT has them upto £30k getmecoat

He has gone for the 24m 0% deal with a balloon payment at the end, that will be circa £14k.

Best deal I was offered was £26.5k with that option hence going the way I did.

For pure fun this car reminds me back in 2006 when I had a Clio Trophy apart from this is fully loaded & upto date.

Not seen that interior befire Steve, looks really good. Good to hear it’s like your trophy I really. It’s mine. One of these will probably be my next car. Would prefer a 3 door though.

Feel better for that chap?

To the OP I agree with some of the advice here. Don't be sensible if you are 23 as you have lots of time for that. I made some sensible choices with cars along the way and I regret them all!
