Congrats on the purchase. Good to know that, contrary to general discussion, it's still possible to buy a new car that (a) will be delivered within the month (b) with a naturally aspirated engine (c) with a manual gearbox (d) at a reasonable price. Also somehow glad to see people buying Mazdas, as I really enjoyed mine (albeit not bought new).

Yep, fair play. We all have our reasons and if it works for you that's what matters. I'm in the unfortunate position of having to replace both mine and my wife's car at the same time.

Getting to the point of just buying an MG HS thing for her (she doesn't care) to take the pressure off and get through the next 2 years. Not sure I can make myself do it though!.
I had a very brief look at a couple of MGs at the car super market place.

Can't say anything jumped out as wrong with them but the snob in me wondered just how much of the "spirit" of MG was there rather than SAIC buying the brand to trade on.

Funny thing is I had my mum with me and she headed straight for the MG as she used to drive one and she "didn't realise they were still going" so I guess they're onto something there smile

samoht I think I got a little lucky in that assuming it wasn't sales lies they literally had the grade I wanted in the colour I wanted at their compound in the wrapping unregistered waiting to be their new courtesy car.

Mazda seem to only really offer fixed grades of car with the colour as the option and if I wanted something that wasn't in stock or already built and on the way to the UK I got the impression it was lucky dip on how long for one to be shipped or several months for a factory order.

Paid the finance off today no unpleasant surprises all done online and for the sake of £150 interest I seem to have saved around £2300 and had the car super quickly.

It's surprisingly well built and whilst I'm obviously a little bit biased it's not at all cheap and nasty feeling to say it's very much an entry level small car.
