The route I take to work the roads are not great tbh which prob exaggerates the issue. I do change my cars every 3-4 years so I guess yes I am looking to change. I have not completely ruled out EVs as yet - if I went the EV route then the i4 M50 and the Audi Etron GT would be top of my list through my works salary sacrifice scheme.
Well, if you can sort out the charging issue I'd imagine either option will be relatively cheap from a TCO perspective (dependent on your salary of course) and would of course leave you with the proceeds from the M2 in your bank account. If you do consider the i5 M50 I'd advise avoiding the 20" wheel option as has a considerable affect on both ride comfort and efficiency.

Decisions, decisions eh?

Yes I definitely have ruled out the 20 inch wheels on the i4 M50 - I have been warned this will delay delivery significantly due to short supply.

I would put a Alfa Guilia Quadrafoglio on your radar.

The chassis was engineered by the Ferrari 458 Speciale tram and so inherited the witchcraft level bumpy road mode, having had a succession of BMW M cars and AMgs that seem determined to knock your fillings out the Alfa’s suspension is incredibly plush and soaks up local Dorset roads that are surfaces worse than the Somme.

Latest 20 on model year cars have L2 autonomy with active cruise and active lane keeping assist, and the car is super quiet and refined on a long journey yet can turn into a road eating banshee on demand. Steering is as good as my F12, plenty of tech like speed limit recognition and speed camera warnings built in that make life easier and a decent near delivery miles example can be had well within your budget.

Refinement isn’t far off a M5 but packaging wise closer to the M3 so easier to hustle on B roads.

Quality is a league on from past Alfa’s and reliability these days is no worse than the Germans who all seem to have their own problems now.

It’s a car you really need to go for a long drive in to understand why it’s so good, so well worth a test drive to see if it suits you.

After the last gen BMW M3 the thing that really has stood out for me is how refined it is from a road noise and ride perspective, has a clever 3 cylinder deactivation mode that means you get decent MPG on a cruise as well. It is also ridiculously fast.

I imagine you'll rule out the etron Gt for similar reasons then, the waiting lists are long..

Lovely car, but the interior is a weak point when compared to a 3 series, let alone a 5. Everything you touch feels a little cheap IME, but if that doesn't bother the OP I'd 100% agree it should be on the list as otherwise brilliant.

One of the lease companies we use have several of the C+S Quattro models coming into stock in June/July. I am not in a rush so if the order takes up to 12 months that is not a problem.

Health to drive!

Be great to know your thoughts on E-from once you’ve had it a while.
