The neighbours, man, goodness me. Far less embarrassing to back the X3 (snigger) out of the driveway, even if it is on the back of a breakdown truck and leaves a puddle of oil on the herringbone, than to own a Kia. Also, mismatched ditchfinders and low spec, but it's got the right badge.
Old BMWs are council as anything though. On the subject of Kias, pre Covid, one of the guys I work with was coming to the end of his 3 year company car. I found a lease for a Kia XCeed for £167 a month and showed him how much better off he would be getting the car allowance and getting that car.
Next I heard his wife didn't like it so they had ordered a VW T-ROC through work which would cost him the equivalent of £550 a month when you take into account the loss of car allowance and BIK tax.
His wife is the only person who drives the car, so she obviously decided the Kia badge just wouldn't do.

The lesson being that wives are a lot more expensive to maintain than cars On the subject of Kias, pre Covid, one of the guys I work with was coming to the end of his 3 year company car.
