There are levels of fake exhaust. Some are just plastic trim on a bumper which is what the sq5 became. This has dual exits on each side and they may be some what detached from the actual exhaust but you’d be pressed to tell past a casual look. There is an advantage to that. The soot and crap doesn’t build up and make the exhaust tips disappear!

Porsche cause it’s own many a flaw too. I think the Tiguan is a good alternative and should be given serious thought.

How "big" does the SUV need to be? I had a 2020 VW T-Roc R and it was phenomenal. Just a jacked up Golf R realistically. Sliding pano, Akra exhaust etc etc. Interior was it's only downfall IMO.

I believe tiguan has real exhaust tips - not fake.

They don't soot up due to the GPF filter.

Even golf R exhausts don't soot up as much anymore due to this - and they are attached and real also.

Merc GLE could be a shout - the 43 version? Although these have tips - but behind the tips are just one exhaust outlet not 2.

As is the PH way, things escalated quickly and we picked up a Cayenne GTS.

Pretty high spec, Carmine red, 21’ Sport Classics, Sport Chrono, Bose, extended leather and some other things I haven’t found yet. (Anyone know a reliable Porsche VIN checker?)

Transfer case replaced and 3 years remaining on the Porsche extended warranty.

Thanks for all the input, still ended up being relevant.

I purchased a Macan S from new and took delivery in December 2022. It was cheaper than a BMW X3 on the PCP finance, even with all the price and APR increases whilst we waited nearly a year for a build slot...

Great car, fun to drive, id say power steering + is the only option I would have specced that I didn't as its for the wife and she thinks the steering is heavy.
