Yes well priced and well specced. Not sure if the colour would be easy to sell on if that's important. First step for me would be to ask them to send a pic of the service history screen of the idrive.

Hmmm doom blue eh?

I'm okay with blue but I guess it's not the most masculine looking JCW. Also much as I like the spec and miles I struggle with the concept of buying an older car than mine but paying twice as much. Probably a bit stupid but I think psychology I'd be happier with a 2018 LCI despite it costing a bit more.

Well, I got kind of quite excited when I saw this at the local Sytner.

Until I clicked on the visit website link and found it was a mistake.

Honestly, where do they get their prices!!

Cheers for all the Mini info guys but I'm starting to go off the idea now. Looking at newish JCWs at franchised dealers is depressing and the budget creep has become ridiculous. I'm finding myself looking at cars which I thing tick all the boxes but....they're about 22k. It's just not worth it for my 4k miles a year when my Fiesta is running so well.

Had a chat with my wife about it today. She's not into cars at all but was prepared to listen. We're having a new kitchen in July and don't quite know the exact cost. There should be money left over so I'm back to my old plan of keeping the ST and getting a roadster for fun and weekends. Rather than throw my car plus 15k at a Mini I can get a nice mx5 sport nav ND for less than 15k and have both.

Probably won't stop me checking out Minis on a daily basis though!

A fair and rational decision.

I'm also currently looking for a car (possibly another Mini, but a Cooper S) and finding it very hard going due to the prices being asked of cars at the moment - feels like an awful time to be buying, to be honest.

I've had both a JCW and an ST and as I'm sure you know, you aren't being short changed in the ST. Even better if you can get a nice convertible alongside it for when (if!) the weather gets better!

Have you not just considered getting a cheaper Cooper S? This one is only £13k and has a good spec with Media XL, LED Lights and Heated Seats etc.

Yes that's always an option.

I'll keep an eye on what comes up.

From where you are and with such a lovely Fiesta then it doesn't make much sense to "upgrade". I was in a different situation having cashed in on the M2 at the very top of the market so (probably) paying over the odds for the MINI was OK.

I am now desperate for prices to crash (I don't think they will) to do the reverse when I re-upgrade.

Not sure if any of this makes any sense though.

Dippping into this thread as an owner of 2 F56's in the past (a 2016 210 Works and then later a 2019 JCW) to say that if anyone is still on the fence about getting one - do it! I still regret not having either of my MINI's and would love to buy another one to turn into a track car. Preferably pre-LCI with the JCW Pro valved exhaust like I had on my 210. Currently I've got a 2020 Polo GTI as a daily and as much as I love it and think I'll keep it for a while (it's also more practical than the MINI for me), it doesn't have the same 'personality' or fun factor, as capable as it is.

I'd also add that unusual colour and specs don't necessarily mean the car won't be easy to sell, my JCW was Electric Blue with Chilli Red roof, mirror caps and red interior panels and the MINI specialists I sold it to had it gone within 24 hours and received an insane amount of interest. Personally, I think the beauty of MINI's is the weird and wonderful specs you can get! biggrin

Did you find the JCW a worthwhile upgrade from the challenge 210?

My local sytner mini have a 210 at the moment. It does look nice but seems very poor value unfortunately.
