Macan S vs AMG A45 S to daily for years to come
Discussion
Maybe odd choice at first, but thinking about a car that's relatively practical and luxurious, comfortable over broken roads, but fun when mood takes.. and I was dead set on the Macan S until recent prices increased which made me look around a bit more..
and an A45 S seems to also tick similar boxes. Or am I bonkers? For a daily driver?
With the Macan I'd spec'd it up to be relatively simple mechanically, with the intention of keeping it for 100k miles. The AMG on the other hand seems to have a lot more trick stuff going on, and a high specific output engine which might be more stressed as a result? Not to mention clutch packs on rear axles. But then again the AMG is a lot cheaper to run.

Badge wouldn’t be as strong but the X3M is worth a consideration I reckon
I'd say an X3M is a class above the GLA/A45 and one below the Macan, certainly a sensible suggestion and has more space than either.Maybe also worth looking at a Stelvio QV?

I'd say the Macan is a clear size above so not a true comparison, somewhere between the two is the SQ5, or the Stelvio QV & a honorable mention to the X3M.and an A45 S seems to also tick similar boxes. Or am I bonkers? For a daily driver?

If you want something similar space wise then the C43 Estate is a good shout.
