Hey guys,

Has anyone ever imported a car from Thailand?
If so any shipping companies you would recommend?
And if possible can you summarise the process.

Thanks

Might be worth looking at ebay, IIRC there was a company importing modified Toyota pickups from Thailand? They might be able to help

As you have not had any authoritive replies, I'll give you my experience of moving my bikes and car from mainland Malaysia to Borneo, and I know my mate had a similar exoerience taking his Ducati from Malayia to Uk.
On paper the export process is the same as from the Uk, i.e. proof of ownership and appointment a shipping agent.
But the problem is that in SEA sometimes they want to see 'poof' that the vehicle is not security on a loan as a condition of loading.
This is nearly impossible to prove and in the several cases I know of (in Malaysia), it came down to a personal visit to the port, and a chat.
I'd advise you to find a good shipping agent and take their advice.
8 and 10 year car loans, using the car as security are common.

Thank you. Can you advise what shipping agent you used for Malaysia shipping? I may enquire with them to see if they are able to support with Thailand.
Thank you
