So this is the one we have come to see. It looks in good condition, the only minor issue is that one wheel is black, the rest are silver. The guy selling it said they hadn’t even noticed. They are replacing the brake pads annd disks and the original Lexus ones are on the seat ready to be fitted. Edit: they said they will also sort out the wheel.
I’ve looked under the car as best as I can. They a little bit of rust here and there but nothing you wouldn’t expect of a car this age. Likewise the little bit of scuffs internally here and there. It’s has 6 services, the first 4 at Lexus, then a Halfords and a kwik fit. Would that affect the extended warranty?
What’s do you all think? Go for it??
Hell no, I'd run a mile from that!So this is the one we have come to see. It looks in good condition, the only minor issue is that one wheel is black, the rest are silver. If I were in your shoes, I'd go for one from Lexus and make sure I can get the 10 year relax warranty from them. Spend your full budget and get the best car you can for the money.

I've been considering an NX and paid our local dealer a visit.
A key draw for me with a Lexus is the expectation of trouble free motoring and, for that reason, I'd choose main dealer for a relaxed and pampered buying and ownership experience.
My wife looked at both. Her view was the rx was a better car in almost every way, especially in refinement. The 4 pot and cvt was slow and noisey. The v6 is fast enough for overtaking on a twisty road and sounds less pained doing so. She bought the rx over the nx.

I might be wrong, but is it not just the balance of a 10 year warranty from new? So for the car linked, essentially it will only have 1 year left?If I were in your shoes, I'd go for one from Lexus and make sure I can get the 10 year relax warranty from them. Useful to know, thank you.She bought the rx over the nx.
Terzo, I think you're right, that is the case. The salesman said they can go beyond the 10yr 100,000mile warranty on a case by case basis but the last one he knows applied and was rejected. He said Lexus keep changing the policy a bit.
Plan is to go and look at one tomorrow and if it doesn't work out we can go back to Woodbridge for the new one they have coming on.

Agreed. Between that and the service history we decided to skip that one. We are off to see another at a Lexus dealer on Friday, it’s slightly over budget but just comes with a lot more peace of mind
How much over budget can you go? A quick shufti through the AT pages showed a couple of new shape rx at @25k? Bit of a reach over original budget but I'd hazard a guess it's at least 5k better. Your budget doesn't seem unreasonable.
I picked up a 2013 Premier with loads of kit and in very good condition on 80,000 miles. It had FSH which was all Lexus apart from that last 3 years, where it was serviced at the place I bought it from. I paid just under £18k in September last year.
Last week I treated it to its 100k service at Lexus even though I missed the 10 year warranty thing - didn't know about that until after I bought it . With it being a 10 year old car I thought I'll take it to them so they can give me the big list of stuff that needs sorting, and that should keep me going for a few years until I move on.
I had budgeted at least another £1k for whatever needed to be done. The only comment was the discs and pads were a bit low.
I only bought it to be a functional, comfortable family bus but somehow it's really got under my skin.

Unfortunately that’s pushing the budget too far, if we did that we would never stop! Our original budget was £15k and I upped it to £20k, and now it’s going to £21k. ??
Funny how that happens. My budget started at £8k. makmanuk said:

I dount you will be disappointed with an older model. They seem to be cars that get 'meh' reviews by hot shot roadtesters but glowing ones from those that actually own one!! Will do, next Wednesday hopefully!
I’ve got to say, I think I got a decent deal. 50,000 on the clock, almost perfect condition outside, scuffs here and there inside. But the selling point was the service history, Lexus dealer stamps, every February, every year. I’ve got 12 month warranty with the dealer and if I service it in Nov just before the anniversary I’ll get another year from the 10 year warranty deal Lexus do. I’ve walked away with some piece of mind.

Here you all go, new car collected, Lexus made us feel very special.
They took us into a room with a glass wall, dimming the lights in our room and raising them on the other side of the glass to show us a silk sheet covered car. My youngest son got to pull that back to reveal our new car. Honestly, it really did make you feel a bit special.

Brilliant. Been a few posts where people have said the Lexus dealer did similar. They have a wonderful reputation. Well bought, lovely Here you all go, new car collected, Lexus made us feel very special.
