"slow" big engine car
Discussion
Hello
due to the temptation to plant the right foot too often ive decided i need to get rid of my car and have something that is "slow" so they'll be no temptation to speed.
am looking at big engine cars so at least i have the sound.
minimum 3.5 litre
budget 15k.
ideally coupe but saloon considered
as new as possible for that budget
thanks

Pretty much everything, bar a Goggomobil, will have enough performance to get into trouble unless "you" show some restraint...
Leaving that aside, and maybe some of your intent has been lost in translation, if you mean a lazy big engine car rather than a performance car... take a look at some of the American offerings. Crude, by European standards, but often fun, different and maybe a completely different ambience - might be what you need.

I suspect it's having more than four cylinders that gives the better sound, rather than raw capacity.
Therefore if I were you I'd look towards some small sixes, like the 2.5L ones which were relatively common 15 years back.
The other thing is an aftermarket exhaust, can make it sound like you're doing the tonne when you're just breaching 40.
P38 Range Rover. Delicious V8 burble, old, very comfortable and retro cool but in no way fast and likes a drink so you'll run out of money before you ever lose your license. Mine's £130 to fill up with unleaded. For feel good factor, neo classic cars are where it's at.
