This is a very useful site: https://cartaxcheck.co.uk/free-car-check/?vrm=LV10...

Gives tax cost, V5 date change and other info.

I also use Autotrader to check for cat n/s and see what options are on the car.

Gov MOT site of course.

Any others?

Carzana used to be brilliant - even showing previous sale adverts if found to be advertised before, and some basic background information too. Never found anything like it since.

Seems it just got bought out and assimilated or hidden behind a paywall.

Cazana was one of the many brands that Cazoo overpaid for as part of the attempt to corner the industry during Covid. In the case of Cazana they bought it in '21 to manage their background api but after realising they'd massively overpaid they decided to attempt to also resell it as a B2B service to traders for a monthly access fee, which didn't work either.

A quick Google suggests Cazoo recently sold it as part of their big fire sale in order to stay afloat - for a fairly massive loss.

Just Googling the number plate sometimes brings results especially if the car has an interesting history.

I use two apps, vehicle smart which is good for mot data, and totalcarcheck which is good for v5 date changes and it also shows if the car has recently been for sale and how much for. Both are free.

https://totalcarcheck.co.uk/ - gives quite a bit of free info plus previous sale adverts. Works better with a free account.
