Order placed, deposit paid and finance forms filled out.

I guess it’s a case of RTFM but with the Honda app can you pre condition the car etc? Being able to de ice it before I go out to it would be great. I know it hasn’t got a heat pump but my commute to work is only like 5 miles, so not that bothered about it impacting the range.

My finance paperwork doesn't explicitly state PCP, it says 'Hire Purchase Agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974'.

Of greater potential concern, in terms of payments it says:

"You will be required to pay

1. One payment of £179.25 payable xx/xx/xxxx
2. 23 monthly payments of £179.25, payable monthly thereafter on the same day of the month
3.a final payment of £27,675.62, (including the Purchase Fee of £10.00) one month after the last of the regular monthly payments."

There is no mention of that final payment being optional, no reference to a Guaranteed Future Value.

To put it mildly I don't want to buy this thing in 2 years for £27K! What's going on?

"PCP" is just the consumer name for a Hire Purchase agreement arranged as a set of monthly payments, just the last one is much bigger, and optional..

Thanks. Do you not think it's a little weird that, as written, the finance agreement compels the customer to make that much larger final payment?

Am I the only one that has taken 3 years? £205 + 1 per month black Elegance. Couldn't see a reason not to with the low deposit.

I just checked my last PCP agreement (Renault) and nowhere on it did it say the final payment was optional hehe

I don’t have the full terms though so I assume it’s in all of them somewhere..

I was in two minds but wanted to keep options open with so many EVs coming out. Be interesting to see if there's an option to extend the PCP in 2 years time

For those concerned about the finance arrangement, this was the original deal, clearly states pcp and optional final payment.

My form had both HP and PCP on. There was then a separate form stating that I was having pcp and not hp and that the dealer had discussed what suited my needs best

It’s basically Honda saying only have the pcp if you are thinking of keeping it 😄 HP if you just want to rent. But everyone is on the PCP obviously.

The dealers know the craic

Bit of luck this morning.

One of the dealers rang me up and said they had a cancelled order in black if I wanted it. £179 deposit and £182 a month. I wasn’t going to argue the £3 a month with black being sold out everywhere else.

Bit annoying as current lease doesn’t end till May/June. Enquired about handing back early but this is too cheap to pass by so if I end up with two cars for a couple of months then so be it.
I filled in the application on Brindley's (Wolv.) website on Sunday evening, and booked a test drive for tomorrow for good measure. Zilch, no callback nothing. frown I'd jump at a cancellation at £179.....

What is the title of this form which states you have pcp and not hp? I got the 18 page single document which mentions like if you have selected pcp then this and blah blah

TCF/Post Sales Pack.

PCP box is yes
HP box says no

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it. It will have all been set up correctly for your quoted PCP

Also a reminder for everyone that as it’s a pcp we will be responsible for the road tax. From April 2025 it will be £180 for the year for these. The tax on EV’s change next year.
If the car is registered in March, do we get it free next year as we’re ahead of April?

I saw another thread with somebody thinking ahead. smile

Take it off the road (SORN) the last week of Feb 2025 (DVLA database needs about 5 days rolleyes). Then retax it for £0 on 1st March. You'll end up buying VED for 1 month before it goes back, perhaps, in March 2026. Current VED will not be back-charged, only on vehicles taxed AFTER 01/04/2025.

At the price they were offering you can’t hang about, just have to go for it. When I was speaking to dealers on Monday and Tuesday no one had black. I’ve just read a couple of reviews and watched some YouTube videos. For £180 I’m glad it had got a seating wheel, some (heated) seats and four wheels. Will it be as good as other EV’s? No of course not but at £180 I won’t be complaining.
