After a bit of research I don't think it has the feature of the doors auto locking on drive off. A few websites also says this is normal on most Japanese cars, is this true?
Going back a bit our last Honda was a 2014 mk2 Jazz and that didn't autolock, but apparently in some countries it did - the feature wasn't in the European software.

Yes that's what I have read. USA cars do auto lock.

I had tried my local dealer at the beginning of the month, who had their own extra discount on top of the base Honda deal, but not as good as those other dealer groups mentioned already. They initially couldn't improve on their deal but later did so we went ahead.

I was never quite sure if it really would all go through, but it did and we picked up yesterday. I'm now quite relieved they are only ten minutes away given the delays some are seeing. We'll be away over Easter so a last minute pickup would not be an option. Though I see no reason why dealer could not register the car and ensure fully paid by the end of the month even if handover is later.

I didn't think the EV proportion was a quarterly government requirement. It is just Honda's own rule for the £8k deposit allowance. Though that was originally supposed to be for orders by 31 Jan and registered by 31 March.

Regarding the car, it's for my wife who isn't into cars as much as I am. I've only given it a spin around he block so far, but while it might not excite, it should be very competent for what it needs to do.

There are quirks, such as there not seeming to be a nice way to delete radio presets. I found a cumbersome way of the full factory reset, which I thought had left it locked out after it sat wanting a security code, but did come back after starting the car properly.

I think there is a problem with the PDI routine in terms of the telematics module for app access. I specifically asked and was told it was done. However, it seems that pretty much all the cars from most dealers are being sent away without being setup properly (and this has been the case since the e came out). The icon on the screen is greyed out. They need to go back to any dealer to get it done. The waiting 24 hours might be a palm off but I can take it back next week if it doesn't activate itself.

I had a similar issue online: computer says no.
Thanks. I must have had a computer says no operator at the other end of the phone as well. I put it on my Admiral Multicar policy instead, which seems reasonable for the Honda but wasn't cost effective for my wife's old car, hence going with Hastings. Hastings has a £45 cancellation fee for when the old car is sold, and takes off the initial £20 new business fee, but is otherwise a pro rata refund.

This absolutely reeks of "fk the customer, they're getting it on the cheap, why should we bother". What a horrible sounding dealership.
Picked mine up from Cannock yesterday. They were really good I thought.

swap the car on hasting current policy with honda and get old car on new policy... may work out cheaper

It's the bodged PDI and set up I'm more talking about than the charging. I don't expect a petrol/diesel car to be filled up for me when I collect it unless it was specified as part of the sale. But I expect the car to be set up properly and have been PDI'd properly.
I hear there was an issue with Hondas central system this week for setting up the telematics, outside the control of the dealers

Pickup tomorrow from Cannock, just signed the forms. Price to buy the car after 3 years is £26k, think it will be going back!

Luke said some apps are working on pickup, if not it is a 10 minute visit to a Honda dealer. Good job I have one local. He also fudged his answer to this, fairly sure it won't be working on pick up. He offered to pick me up from the station, no complaints so far.

Agree on the 3 year price, it's crazy. A 6 month old is already listing at £28k!

How do they estimate these ludicrous GFV?

Just collected mine this afternoon from Warrington Honda. Its for my wife and for the money it can't be beat I don't think. Looks great in the red and I got the Guard-X protection as they did it for a decent price and I thought it was worth the investment given we have trees overhanging our drive so thinking it will ensure paintwork isn't a problem when we give it back. Went for the 3 year option as it wasn't much more a month and I doubt there will be much better for £230 a month in 2 years. Haven't driven it yet but looking at what else you can get for low £200's a month with no deposit I'm happy. Warrington Honda were brill and kept me posted on everything and from the initial enquiry late Feb we now have the car.

Bearing in mind the Motability offers on these - ie: https://www.johnbanks.co.uk/honda/offers/honda-e-n... - there might be loads of 'em kicking around in 3yrs!

When we visited West Brom to collect ours on Saturday we were advised ahead of time to register on the app. The Sales Advisor then took the app and registered the car to the account as the 'owner' for us.

However, for three days whenever we went to subscription screen, it was just blank. Then it just came up one night this week and we were able to setup the 3 year free subscription. The app has worked fine since and we've been able to download map updates etc.

Works better than my Cupra app, but that's no surprise given the state of VWs software in this generation!

Nice!

I’ve gone for the identical colour and deal. Had grey and black cars for years so fancied something a bit brighter for a change.

The red looks great, the black which I am getting so much. Any ideas on how to keep a black one clean easier, ceramic shampoo?

Can't argue with the price per month but it feels like we are at the start of some really attractive deals this and next year with EVs, with the BEV targets ramping up manufacturers need to find homes for these vehicles, price is still one of the big barriers.

Honda has shown us what is possible.

Just had a call saying a transporter full has arrived at Cannock...

Mines not on it!! Maybe tomorrow, maybe Monday.

Said they HAVE to be registered and taxed before 28th
Just had exactly the same conversation!

TBH I’m not massively bothered as we are in no rush for it, but would be helpful to have a little more certainty.
Subsequent phone call to say it’s arriving on the transporter tomorrow, given choice of registrations and arranged to collect it on Tuesday.

I arranged a couple of weeks ago to collect today, and Wolverhampton called me yesterday to say it's not arriving until this morning. Let's hope it's turned up and they can charge it before the end of the day or I'll be asking them to refund my train journey and pay for my return!

Thanks for the positive comments about the colour choice though I deferred to my line manager, I think she made the right choice. I used my deposit £250 to pay for the Guard-X treatment and it actually seems very good and the paint really pops. I actually thought it might protect my investment and a small price to pay in the context of a damn good deal etc. No other options and I didn't get mats but have ordered some of the internet for £50 so they will finish the interior. So I have a £230 investment a month for 3 years and I've no issues with that when you think about what else I could get for £230 a month and it would likely be a sub 20k car on lease. I will be handing it back to the finance co in 3 years and saying ta very much.

Driving: actually pleasantly surprised after reading a couple of underwhelming reviews. It actually drives round town best in Eco mode and has no problem at all moving with a little haste. I drive an XC60 T8 which is hybrid with 450bhp and this does not feel underpowered. I haven't driven loads of full electric cars but have driven some of the supposed best ones (Taycan, Tesla, I4 etc) and this one is actually ok. When you think about what £200 or a little more actually gets you you can't fail to be impressed. There is no way I would give 45k for one but that's not the point.

Warrington had a red and a blue one left as of 2 days ago as a work colleague enquired for 15k PA over 2 years and it was £320. If anyone wants a decent car for the price of a full fat Sky TV subscription I'd give them a bell.

That monthly might be with a hefty deposit - the Honda site defaults to around £5K.

Cheshire Oaks (Holdcroft Group, same as Warrington) quoted me £487.50 for a Blue Advance for 2yrs at 12K/yr with no deposit. It was quite a lot cheaper for 3yrs (£424).
