Paging 21stCenturyMan - I’ve only just learned of this feature on the Century; a magnetic area on the steering column to stop your pesky additional keys from jangling about and disturbing the serenity in your cabin.

It is the ultimate evolution of the small rubber pad fitted for the same purpose I recall on my Golf from 30 years ago!
There are a number of things like that, which I discovered over time. On start up I get (in Japanese) "Good morning, today is Monday the twenty fifth of March" as well as special messages for holidays and other significant dates. |https://thumbsnap.com/QWbc329Z

That's got to be a contender for longest and coolest car badge. Yes heavenly, but to be used as it deserves needs to relocate to warmer climes.
I’m surprised the seller is even bothering with fleabay for the mouth breathers they’ll get. Far more likely to find a serious buyer via owners forums etc.
Wonderful for nostalgia, but something I would get proper usage from, no.

A very cheap, or very expensive, route into S600 ownership…
One for GoL, surely:

Does that have some sort of self-levelling rear suspension? Looks like some pretty big hoses/lines going to the rear shocks.21st Century Man said:

Someone will buy it though.
Yet another unicorn S211 E500 with the larger M273 5.5L V8 -- albeit 20% over budget. This one looks quite nice without having undertaken any requisite MOT checks, ofc.
The volume of recent E500 estate sales is curious... could be coincidence, or perhaps running such a thirsty old Merc with increased inflation and the subsequent squeeze on budgets... perhaps the transition to EV?

Classy-looking thing. The volume of recent E500 estate sales is curious... could be coincidence, or perhaps running such a thirsty old Merc with increased inflation and the subsequent squeeze on budgets... perhaps the transition to EV?
Nice looking dog/family wagon. Obvs Geartronic but I'm of the opinion if it's made it so far, and IF it's been maintained you take your chances. Inbuilt booster seats a nice touch, haven't seen too many of them - explains the kicking the rear stereo controls have taken - but you don't have to look at that from the front

Didn't do any diligence, but then MOT hist
Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects):
Nearside Front Road wheel has a welding defect (5.2.2 (a))
Nearside Rear Road wheel has a welding defect (5.2.2 (a))
wheels, tyres and CV boots seem to take a hammering in Dorset, esp. only doing 3-6k a year !

It's not just them. I commented to a friend yesterday how many old interesting smokers are coming through BCA at the moment, I've seen more 650i convertibles and coupes in the last month than in the preceding two years I think. The volume of recent E500 estate sales is curious... could be coincidence, or perhaps running such a thirsty old Merc with increased inflation and the subsequent squeeze on budgets... perhaps the transition to EV?

Very smart looking thing, though lack of heated seats seems odd on a '500. Maybe they spent all their budget on the engine and had nothing left for extras. Also, of all the things that have aged badly in the last 20 years, integrated screens in the back of headrests must be the worst. Thankfully it seems like it was a short lived craze, but they just look awful now.
