Hi All,

Been offered a Lexus GS450H SE-L (2006) from a family member for a cheap price.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience with this car. I will be using it for mostly motorway miles once a week, apart from the age of the car and low MPG any other thoughts on it. Family member has had it for the last 6 years and its immaculate, full service history, just got a fresh MOT and only done 77,000 miles.

Thoughts please!

Thanks in advance

I’d considered one myself a few years back.

Generally they’re quite good, and 300hp+ I seem to remember the 0-60 was around 6 seconds.

Only issues I found were an occasional steering column fault that affects a few cars. The replacement was quite expensive.

Plus the battery pack is quite expensive, but you can get individual cells repaired if it fails.

In the end I went with an IS250, but should have got the GS450.

i had one for 4 years then passed on to family member who has had it for 7+years it was a 2009 model. Brilliant car only issue was small boot for a large family car. The ML stereo is fantastic.

Yes - just buy it. A great car for the use you describe - it'll waft you along and I don't think MPG will actually be that bad.

I had an RX450h and averaged 35 in it over 10,000 miles, mostly motorway.
