At that amount of money I would like to get something that will always, always make me smile. For me that car would be the 8C if it looks as good in the flesh as in pictures.

Get the 8C, it'll hold it's value. If you get bored of it later you can sell and get a vanquish for less (and buy the Caterham you didn't want)
Oh and yes the vanquish sounds awesome but the 8C is hardly lacking in that department http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX93trcL57o

Hmmm... split decisions on here too... Good work biggrin

I have driven the Vanq S and it was utterly lovely - put a bid in on one that got away. The gearbox was not nearly as bad as people make out - wouldn't put me off at all. Initially, I was thinking I would have to go for the fully manual conversion, but having driven it I don't think it is necessary (for the time being).

I am having real trouble finding an 8c that anyone will let me drive (or even one to passenger in).

(Have done the Caterham thing and will prob get another one when I have the space for several cars.)

8C, every time. The noise, the looks (I may be biased).

The Vanquish, like all modern Astons, is a very boring design. Yes it has class and a good soundtrack blah blah, but the 8C has passion, exciting looks and sounds good too. thumbup
+1

The DB7, Vanquish, DB9 and V8 are too similar in design IMO

8C for me. Supercars are all about noise and presence, the 8C trumps most things in that department.

This thread upsets me - wen did Alfa make an ugly uber-car? Man, I thought the surrenderers made pretty cars.

Put me down for the Aston, in metallic BRG please.

I saw about a dozen Vanquishes on Sunday, and two 8Cs.

Wouldn't have either.

How much is a DBS now?

8C! I see a 8C every month, in red and they look jaw dropping in the flesh, still waiting to here full sound track, but got an idea after seeing a test car two years ago at the ring.

Or what abou the following, but I am sure you have considered !

Ferrari 599, (A bit more but will hold value) F40!

Ferrari Superamerica /550 / 575 / 612 and bank the excess money.

Maserati Gran Turismo

8C!

As far as owners are considered (having spoke to many), i think 95% of modern aston owners buy the car as a cock extension and have very limited knowledge about the car or cars in general. I would hate to be tarred with the same brush.

Buy the alfa.

I have never had a car picture as my desktop on my computer. Never. I always like to keep it clean and neat.

But then, I saw the 8C at goodwood and the british motorshow last year. I have never seen such a stunning, good looking car. Really - it totally blew me away and turned this 28yr old into a school boy again. So that was it; for the first time ever I had the press picture of the 8C as my wallpaper.

The vanquish is a great great car, but the 8C is jaw droppingly beautiful and has the noise (and drive - according to magazines) to back up it's pant-wetting looks.

8C. 8C.

And, just so we're clear on my choice; 8C biggrin

Don't the reviews all say that it's a pity they didn't make the 8C drive as well as it looks?

Happily, having an enormous cock, I am one of the 5%.

I'm interested to know how the other 95% intimated to you that they had bought their Astons as penis extensions. Given you would fear being tarred with the same brush, does that mean that you are in need of an extension yourself?
