Decided to get rid of our mini cooper shopper and looking at the Kia Ceed 1.6 oil burner. Likely be a 2012/13 car. Used reviews read well and the car seems to offer plenty for the money.
Thank for comments and advise.

I have a 2009 1.6 diesel. Engine has been trouble free. Bodywork is rusting more than I'd expect on a 2009 car

No, not the most PH car but is proving fairly cheap to run for me. I think pre-2010 cars don't have DPF, DMF etc so that's good. I believe they are generally a reliable car though.

Have had a 13-plate 1.4 CRDi hatch and now a 17-plate 1.6 CRDi estate, both base spec “1” models and both company cars.

And both bloody brilliant. 1.4 was a bit slow to say the least, but kept up with traffic. Reliable, cheap to run, nice to drive, comfortable etc. Would happily buy one with my own money.
