3 months of owning an approved used eNiro.
Forward Collision Assist fault and now numerous braking and handling errors are popping up. My local dealer, Newbury Kia seemed totally disinterested in helping - telling me all the reasons it wouldn't be covered (if a rodent had chewed wires, if it'd been in an accident etc) then told me if it wasn't covered I'd have to pay a diagnostic fee, so did I want to book still - which I did as its a 2 year old car and there are brake and traction errors showing, then told me if they replaced the parts they couldn't calibrate them anyway. So I phones GWR Kia, whom I purchased the car from in November - they are suggesting it shouldn't be driven with a red warning light, but can't see it until June.
Not impressed with Kia overall so far, which is a shame as the car has been fine otherwise, and my local dealer has lost any servicing going forward. I've made it clear that I will need a car until June if GWR can't see it quickly or otherwise I will expect a refund.

The way of getting your car seen quickly with Porsche is to take it out into the road and make it look like a break down with a red warning light etc, call Porsche assist and get a courtesy car and it goes straight to the front of the queue at the dealer. May be similar for Kia and worth trying

book it in for a service at GWR, then when it's there tell them the car has a load of lights on.

They told you June because they don't want to work on it.

Agreed, if you have Kia roadside then do this, manufactures have SLA's to meet and they have to act quickly - Or thats how Ford used to be.

That’s a great idea. Thanks. However as it’s within the first 6 months I also have a right to reject the car having given them an opportunity to fix it. Clearly I’m not waiting for it, so will give them notice tomorrow that they have 2 weeks and then I’m rejecting it. From a look on some Kia forums this seems a not uncommon issue and a long delay in getting parts!
This is the newest car I’ve ever owned and I brought it for the peace of mind and one less thing to worry about!

Newer doesn'r always mean more reliable, it just means when they go wrong they are fixed for free.

After a day of being ignored by GWR kia, I’ve spoken to someone more senior and it’s being looked at at 9.30 tomorrow. I’ve made it clear that unless it’s fixed within a reasonable period (which 5months isn’t) I’ll reject it. Fingers crossed, but it’s really put me off another Kia.

Good luck hope it all works out. It’s situations like this which show the limitation of the franchise model. If all the dealers were owned by the same company or the manufacturer themselves they could internally move stuff around to give a much better service and warranty service.

There was a fault with the sensor for the brake fluid reservoir apparently - the parts are due in a week or two, but the car is safe to drive (albeit I would guess the traction control and emergency braking is inoperative). Its just a shame you have to push so hard to get aftersales support and threaten to reject the car.

This is not a surprise, KIA won't be getting my business again after the original saga, coupled with the fact the vehicle is again yet exhibiting noises on the clutch.

I have a Kia Stinger.

2021 facelift

Had new front discs replaced and having a 02 sensor changed next week under warranty.

No issues getting work done.

I read somewhere that warranty work doesn't pay well as Kia HQ do not pay the normal labpur rate. This may be the reason some dealerships are no so helpful.

I bought mine from Kia Dukinfield and they have been fine do far.

Yes, Franchises just don't want you on the ramp consuming time they could be using for services.

Unless of course they have spare capacity in the workshop and in which case they'd rather take some income even at low margin than nothing.

They might even want to keep customers happy, you never know. My Kia dealer certainly does.

Think that's how my dealer sees it.

My Stinger may be a keeper but if I go electric it would be one of theirs IF my good experience continues

Indeed, for the first time in my life I see myself being loyal to a brand because the combination of long warranty, quality of product and dealer support are all under one roof. And value is superb.

I would probably be saying quite the opposite if my local dealer wasn't up to scratch though, as others have experienced.

This is good to hear, and I've heard many other owners say the same about Kia

Brands I'll never, ever, support again following dreadful experiences are

1. Bmw

2, Audi

3. VW

Funny you say this actually as I've just also along with the saga of this original warranty issue for the post had the Rear Passenger side start knocking on the suspension.

MOT is end of April and Warranty ends July this year so guess where it will be going in for the MOT.

I'm very sightly nervous.
We've just come out of several years of owning (faultless) Toyotas, and are picking up a Ceed Sportswagon 3 (petrol) on Monday.
It's nine months old, 3550 miles, from the local main dealer, and is an approved Kia used vehicle so benefits from the full seven years warranty and a couple of years servicing plan.
Hopefully all will be well.
My secret weapon is my much-loved son-in-law being the Service Manager there - so I'm hoping we'll be looked after... assuming he stays put!
Seven years seems an inordinate length of warranty to someone, me, who is used to three years at best, or six months on used clunkers.
I'll wish myself luck.
