Yeah with a serial port on the computer is the best way, but its a bit old hat and most computers dont have serial ports anymore!
Only problem is the old laptop that it runs well on only holds about 2 minutes charge when you unplug the power supply so I can't use any of the data logging features! I need to get on ebay and look for a new battery!!

A double DIN dash mounted 7" screen PC running the software full time would be nice though!! smile

Interesting, will look into that as I only downloaded the free trial of parallels. I'll take my mac to work tomorrow and hand it to the IT guy. I've installed the USB to 9 pin connector driver thing so that's all ready to go, just need the windows now to make it all work.
Graham.. I think you have to run something old like XP etc as it wont run properly on Windows 7 etc if you are wanting to read/write 3D maps to the ECU..

Guys,

I was in contact with Steve Broughton of SBD a while back and he said that the ec2 file you need depends on the software version of your ECU.

The Noble Dealer software reported this for mine:

ECU# 975 'ab' hardware v451 software ser# 00025835
Noble Cars - Noble M12 GTO - 3.0 Litre V6 - 31/08/03 Dyno, Turbo Set 5

So Steve sent me this ec2 file: 975ab45a.ec2

I'm happy to send this to anyone if they want it? smile

Hi Guys,

I got my M400 and was thinking of re-programming/re-mapping the ECU. What software should I use and is it any good??

I am all new to this... could I mess up????

I have had a Rousch upgrade with re-mapping ... do you think its already at its limit??

Regards

Keith

As far as i'm aware You can read the data, but upload is encrypted so if you upload the car won't run... You need passwords which are kept secret so only a few can actually map the cars.

Can all this information and links to files be put onto Nobleparts?

I would also link to get the easymap software working, and it woul dbe good if it could all be downloaded in one place with EC files etc without having to PM people etc

Thanks

Hi there,
I know this post was a while ago but do you still have the ec2 file as I have a dead Noble with the same ecu. I also have a few questions about easymap 5.5

Many Thanks
