Pretty sure same in both
Just phoned Kerridges & they sheepishly said both....how scary is that. have asked HID's4u for their recommendation, will probably try that anyway if they arrive before the weekend as its not going to be horrendously expensive & report backEdited by searsy on Monday 9th December 15:18

What bulbs are you going for ?
The £70 Osram or any high end (Phillips CBI's etc) will not be used effectively in the Halogen projector lamps we have in the 3R - The reflector bowls / cut-off shields are not designed for that type of bulb.
I dont think you will see much difference between the £70 bulb and the cheap chinese 4300K jobs on ebay - Aside from colour shift and longevity.

Are we talking Halogen type or the HID type, with my 3R projectors the HIDs I've fitted work fantastic, so much more light, really makes a difference. I know they were not designed for them, but mine seem to work fine. The £70 Osram or any high end (Phillips CBI's etc) will not be used effectively in the Halogen projector lamps we have in the 3R - The reflector bowls / cut-off shields are not designed for that type of bulb.

Agreed they are much improved, I was just saying I don't think a £70 bulb gives good value for money due to the lights being designed for halogen bulbs originally.
Would love to see a comparison - I have a cheap H7 hid bulb I can send searsy if your willing to show a side by side in each lamp?

Just had this from Autobulbs, the ones they are recommending are £27.50 for a pair:-

Many thanks for your email. If the car takes an H7 then the D2S bulbs will not be suitable as your car has halogen bulbs and not gas discharge bulbs. We do however have the Osram Night Breaker Unlimited range in H7 and these can be found here,

Hope this helps

I may buy a pair of these, put the one in from swankbaton & compare it against both the standard & the one Autobulbs are recommending

Cant compare - I assumed you where buying a HID kit (bulbs + ballasts) and they were trying to sell you expensive bulbs. That Osram is a halogen bulb not HID.
Also - £17 shipped for the pair here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osram-Night-Breaker-Unli...

Yes, just wanted to upgrade my bulbs for the time being, can make some long term changes when it gets a bit warmer. Thanks anyway. Also - £17 shipped for the pair here : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osram-Night-Breaker-Unli...
Noticed that the Osram Night Breaker H7's were cheaper elsewhere & directed my money to e-bay!
BTW - Is this the archetypal how many men does it take to change a lightbulb

I had these so called 70% brighter Osram bulbs in my old Vito, WOT in my opionion, didn't notice any difference. The Hids are completely different, if you're going to do the job, just as well do it properly??Noticed that the Osram Night Breaker H7's were cheaper elsewhere & directed my money to e-bay!

+1 my bulb upgrade was a waste of money; HIDs however, made a huge difference to visibility.JBliss said:
Why not just buy an HID kit? You wont notice much difference with just the bulbs changed.
HIDS4U are pretty cheap.
Unfortunately, don't have the time or patience in the winter They were cheap so worth a punt, if the difference really is negligible, I'll stick them back in the box & send them back with a polite note!HIDS4U are pretty cheap.
