What about roll over protection ?

Ouch!

The bumps behind the seats look like they could very easily include roll hoops - add that to the hoop in the windscreen surround and there you go, roll over protection!

MB.

If the seats are as tall as in my Noble - then your head will be well below the "humps" - so MB could be right.

Just got back from the Motorshow. Parted with the Deposit and got in queue for a GTO-3R . In the flesh the new front looks MUCH better.

Now please anyone, buy my 911 It's in the classifieds - A Silver Carrera 4S.

Just been having another gander at these crackers and indeed that is precisely what they are: they look utterly fantabulistic and quite simply scream 'Drive me - FAST!'

I had slight misgivings when originally viewed but as long as they don't leak(!) there is simply no reason these shouldn't get a look in against the relevant opposition.

If I were currently in the market for a new near-£50k hyper sports thrillster, this car would seriously muddy the waters 'twixt Cerb and Tuscan S.

How the hell would you decide? Noise, poise, top end or trackmeistery?

I
ve got some web space if you can scan them in and email them to me (joust@easynet.co.uk).

I've also just put down the deposit for a GTC (No. 7 I was told - that was by Friday!) so I think the elise may really have to go this time....

Very nice! 400 bhp would be better, i will say they are great on track, but need just a bit more power for me(nearly tempted)!

In the flesh (at the motor show),the new GTO-3R with the twin headlamps looks better than the standard M12 but until it comes with a boot, electric windows ,a stereo within reach and seats that fold forward so that you can at least reach behind the seats, then this car will not be wading into TVR territory and IMO will remain a track/occasional use/second car.At least for now, I'm still buying a Cerbie. However, if Mr Noble changes his mind and takes my well intentioned advice, then who knows......?

Not sure what a TVR gives you over the Noble with the luggage set in terms of space..... Compared to my Elise the Noble has bags and bags of space!

TVR against Noble

Thats a laugh

I've had 4 TVR's. They all fall to bits, You have to pray when you put the key that it will start and they cost a fortune to service.

None of which I can say for my Noble.

Stick you're boot, electric windows and stereo within reach of the driver, they are no good if the car do'nt start!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So as Mr TVR owner says, "If you take my advice"

I've got a Chimaera 500 and haven't missed a beat in over 12 months / 8000 miles. And my last service cost me £260 including a waxoyl and some adjustment work. That's less than a set of rear tyres for your Noble.

So put that in your pipe and fire the starter motor.

ANDYELEY the fact you have had 4 TVR's despite the fact they all "fell apart" tells its own story

A TVR costing the equivalent money is better looking, much much better sounding and frankly out performs the Noble in any gear I should imagine.

..its posts like this that just wind me up

I'm only on my second so far, but both have remained in one piece, have started every time barr once in 3 years and that was because I'd left the alarm on for weeks without running the car, and servicing is far from a fortune.

Hmm, posts like TVRs all fall to bits will always just meet with a flaming reaction from this site!

And I think it is a gross generalisation of the marque, but I had a Griff 500 that dissolved during my brief ownership despite FSH, main dealer attention etc.

As a consequence instead of buying a cerbie last week I bought an Impreza P1. I suppose it comes to to luck of the draw. I got a lemon which put me off, but it doesn't mean all TVRs are lemons, in the same way you'll hear of the occaisional Porsche driver having a nightmare. I do think TVR do have more dissolving moments than most though.

However,

Jamesk - "[cerbie] frankly out performs the Noble in any gear I should imagine."

No, the Noble is astonishing on a track and has similar straight line speed as most of the TVR range. A bit of a superiorist comment James, perhaps you should try getting a passenger ride in a Noble at some point. I'm not saying either is definitely faster or slower - they're totally different, but it's much closer than you might imagine.

I've got a fantastiv .avi of a group of Nobles at Brands. One particularly fine moment is one of the M12s driving past a cerbie like the TVR has it's handbrake on

As a previous TVR owner and now an M12 there really is no comparison. However i think the new Tamora might finally have pace AND handling which will be a first for the blackpool marque...........
