Hi folks,

I'm no 118, and it's being delivered to the dealer tomorrow (I won't collect until Jan 3rd). Gone for Azure Blue with all extras except leather. As you'd expect, I'm looking forward to it, though I'm not looking forward to getting it very dirty very quickly, which I have a feeling will be unavoidable in January.

Two questions for joust:

1) Do you know if they've started fitting the baffled sump as standard yet?

2) How about an ISP track day to prove once and for all who is the fastest... :-)

1) No - AFAIK Lee is still testing the various designs. I'm sure your dealer will be able to give you an update (or ring the factory direct)
2) Sure - if your paying

I went to have a poke around my car on New Years Eve, and the dealer (HR Owen) was closed. However, they had a Porsche Cassis Red (pink to you and me) one for sale on the forecourt (unregistered) with black leather interior (with lots of pin-prick size holes in it). I must say that the car I test-drove had leather and I really didn't like it, but now this one has me drooling over the leather interior.

Must keep control and stick with my Blue one... :-)

Of course, if anyone wants a Noble now, and doesn't mind pink, pop down to HR Owen in St Albans!

Took delivery on Friday. Finding it hard to keep it below 4,000 rpm, but even so, it's astonishingly quick, and entertaining. Problems noticed so far are:

1) Wing mirrors don't stay put.
2) Plastic surround on the stereo keeps coming unclipped.
3) Steering mounted stereo control not working (I fixed this by fiddling with the wiring behind the stereo).

I'm just glad they only insist on 1,000 miles running in these days, but less glad that the gritter lorries are now out in force :-(

Yep - They All Do That Sir. If it is only you driving, Lee suggested to me that you put a small dab of silicon sealant in the far left to keep it where you want it. Why they don't stay where they are is a mystery to him - they are stock rover items and they seem OK on Rovers...

2) Plastic surround on the stereo keeps coming unclipped.
Join the club!. To fix, just bend the metal clips that it links into outwards slightly, and you'll find the additional grip keeps it there.

On the wing mirrors front, certainly on mine, they are at the very edge of their travel, and I think this may contribute to them going out of adjustment. Perhaps on the original Rovers, the seating and mirror positioning means that they are normally fairly central, and therefore stay in place easier.

Interesting point - but even so - the adjuster feels very "loose" when moving it compared to a Rover 400 or similar.

Ho hum - of course you shouldn't need the mirrors given the speed you'll be going post 1000 mile run in

My wife agrees with the mirrors going out of adjustment but she would like a "split" in them to give extra rearward vision does the rover glass item have a "panaramic" split as a replacement?

Help?

Halfords have ones that you stick over the top of the existing one - I'm sure they have one that fits if you look.
