done 600 miles now in my 3.0 litre noble and I'm sure it's not my imagination, its getting lumpier at slow speed. Ticks over at about 900 rpm, crawling along in a slow moving queue tonight I needed intermittent revs and also tooo much clutch,
it's definately not as smooth as the demo car (2.5 litre) I drove at Nick Whales

Any body else comment about the 3?

Seems that the ECU still needs some tweaking. Early 2.5l cars were just the same. Speak to your dealer or direct with the factory about it - I'm sure they will have an ECU upgrade for it soon (the 2.5 had 3 upgrades AFAIK).

Noble cars don't plan any mod's of this type just yet. Check to see if any sensor leads have become detached.

How many 3 litre cars have been shipped to date? Any owners subscibe to this forum?

I am now up to around 700 miles and mine is getting smoother. Don't have any of the problems you mentioned.

However, it is difficult to keep the revs below 3,500 during run-in. Looking forward to the 1,000 miles service so that I can let it go above.

Having said that, in the currrent conditions I got wheel spin even in third if I am not careful with the pedal.

Mines up to 500 miles now. No problems yet, engine-wise. My book says keep it under 4,000rpm, not 3,500...

I went to the Autosport show yesterday and now my mileage is just below 1000. Yes the car still hunts a little below 3000 rpm but on the whole it drives well. The exhaust pipes are VERY black. I wonder if its just running a bit rich. I expect dealer will sort it at first service.

Like Joust I have been keeping a running log of fuel costs. (thanks J for the excel file). Around town and giving demo rides to all and sundry I was getting aroun 17 mpg. On a long trip (270 miles)yesterday and adhering by and large to speed limits it returned just over 23 miles per gallon.

How's your fuel gauge? Mine seems a little more accurate than some reports would suggest. If I fill it up when it shows '0', I can get 45 litres in. It'll be interesting to see if this is something they've fixed recently, or just that I got luckier than some (I've seen reports that people can only get 30 litres in once the gauge reaches zero).

Mine is #108 and when the gauge reaches 0 it takes only about 32 litres. Still once you know it, it is manageable.

Typically I get about 37 litres in when the guage reads zero. I tend to leave the filler cap unlocked because as I try to undo the lock the other keys on the bunch dangle down on the paintwork, its very fiddly

It looks like I just got lucky, then! :-)

On another subject, has anyone got any bright ideas on how to stop the harnesses banging around when you're using the regular seatbelts?

fuel tank holds approx 60L so when empty you most prob still got another 20L left..... i still fill up just case....

The 0 is actually not the end - the guage keeps on going - I tend to go to 2 pointer's worth under 0 and then get around 36-38l in. Not been brave enough to take it much further

Yep - you need to "tuck" them into themselves and place them at the side - the "twist" in them then keeps them where they should be. www.lotus-elise.org.uk/J'sM12/Justin's%20New%20Noble%20M12%20008.jpg sort of shows the idea... If you can't work it out I'll take a better picture for you and post it when I get the car back from it's current service.

Hmm, not sure about those belt positions - I like mine hooked over the shoulder area of the seat so I'm not sitting on them at all. I will do some more experimenting...

Hi guys,

The fuel gauge calibration is deliberate so that you are not sucking at air when cornering enthusiastically. The tank holds 60 litres; 20 litres are poured in and the gauge is set at zero, so empty to full should be nominally 40 litres. Nothing more scientific than that but it makes sense.
