M600 Driving Day
Discussion
Yes him and Mr Hill junior (who despite his big feet is pretty good at peddaling too).
Brunters and on road, seven of us.
Seeing c. 175 on the short straight and that was with me braking way too early.
Brakes have very little movement / servo assistance and so require a good shove. Once you're used to it it's amazingly effective but it did take me some time to get used to.
I didn't do the long straight but I'm told it pulls from 40 - 200 mph and slows down for the corner ALL IN 6th GEAR!
Road handling was astonishing even on the poor surfaces around Bruntingthorpe though of course none of us found out what it was like in excess of the NSL.
One really good spinner (again not me) a tripple 360 at 120 mph was pretty exciting to watch but even then the car kept off the grass.
Great bunch of people and the two VC10's doing a couple of low passes before landing for the last time was an added bonus.
Phil/Helen any chance you could PM me some pictures?
Cheers

Aye..
First day's testing and "only" running 650Bhp. So don't jump to too many conclusions if Helen posts some video showing it to be a little slower than one would hope!

Did you go and chat to them afterwards then? Nice to hear that they were ok about things after all First day's testing and "only" running 650Bhp. So don't jump to too many conclusions if Helen posts some video showing it to be a little slower than one would hope!

I'll have a look at the video, although it's probably rather shaky due to the cold wind and my uncontrollable shivering . Not sure I even managed to keep it in the viewfinder when Damon was driving it, but I think I got some of his doughnuts. I may have some of the Venom too.First day's testing and "only" running 650Bhp. So don't jump to too many conclusions if Helen posts some video showing it to be a little slower than one would hope!

Echo your comments Nick, re the car, and thanks to everyone involved. It was great taking it for a spin - at least it wasn't me who did the triple 360 and wore the tyres down to the canvas.
Sorry Rob
So, this M600 thing then. Not much more to add to what Nick's already said. It's an amazing bit of kit.
Something about its speed though. As hinted before, N2H and I went out anddrove away from played with the Venom guys. This was with, let's face it mate, not the lightest two people in the world So I knew the M12 was running well.
Then I went out by myself. Coming out of the mid straight chicane the M600 was about 5/6 car lengths behind me. I gave the M12 all it had....and the M600 just drove around me. Then out-braked me at the end and disappeared in a cloud of smoke. My smoke, as I span trying to take something of the corner speed the M600 did. Bugger
Then there was what it did to a Porsche GT3. It was almost embarrassing. But there's a fair price difference I suppose.
So is it worth the money? To be fair you couldn't work that out without driving it. But if you're lucky enough to, it all makes a lot more sense...

i guess the question we are all wondering is can an m12 be tuned to go as well/better than the m600
(has the m600 done the 1/4 mile ? i would like to know the time and terminal speed)
i had a sit in the m600 and a chat to the owners at the autosport show and i did really like it
being a noble owner they were keen to ask me what i would like to change about the car
my answer was "a rear spoiler and 800 hp"

I really don't think you could tune an M12 to be as good or better than the M600, it's about so much more than simply more bhp. It's simultaneously capable of incredible acceleration and high speeds (the M12 will always lose out aerodynamically there) whilst being quite happy to pootle about through villages at 30mph in fourth. It's also very stable, even flicking around an obstacle at high speed didn't unsettle it. (has the m600 done the 1/4 mile ? i would like to know the time and terminal speed)

As for the 800bhp, I asked Peter about a rumour that it could run 850bhp, he said they had run it at that but didn't like what it did to its handling characteristics.
I apologise for my lack of camera skills, but this might still give an idea of how the M600 compares to the M12.
