It is very much to be dictated by your Employer on the scheme they use AFAIK
I’m in the fortunate position that I can make that determination Hence asking for provider feedback.Seems the deals I am seeing by Octopus are better than others are seeing with others....

Just got my delivery confirmation text.
I’ve been invited to the “unique” launch event on 19th Feb in Southampton to collect my Y.
In reality I imagine they can’t sort couriers so are seeing if they can get people to collect. Like a mug I have agreed!
I think its partly that they don’t have enough contract couriers and partly they don’t want to pay them. I presume you are funding your own train ride to Southampton docks so they lose all the cost of shipping cars around. I hope they give you the car full and add a balance to your supercharger miles to help get you home.I’ve been invited to the “unique” launch event on 19th Feb in Southampton to collect my Y.

Don’t get me wrong I’d be going down there too!
No one is forcing anyone to get their car at this launch event. If they can't stomach a train ride, they can wait to get the car delivered in their local area.
I think it's reasonable all things considered. If people can make the event, they can get their car "early". If they can't, they'll get it on time.

Ordered a MY through the salary sacrifice scheme also - Zenith - they don't throw in the home charging point with the deal but refer you to Pod Point - I'm looking at the site at the moment & choosing the 7kw charger, question is whether I'd bother with a universal or tethered charger?
Any simple guides out there for new EV / Tesla ownership & do's and don'ts at all? Including home charging vs Supercharger etc.

I’m going for a hypervolt unit as we get a corporate discount. They also do itemised charging reports for my expensing (we can expense all charging but need to provide itemised lines with KW/h per charge and our electricity rate)
General advice is to get a tethered one to avoid you needing to grab cables out of the car every time
Model Y was added to the grant list last week so you can now register for the £350

OctopusEV emailed me last week to say it’ll be delivered here at home (North Yorkshire) on 15th Feb
Now battling a suitable means to have them cable up the supplied charger….
Infrastructure is the weak link
I would call Tesla with your RN number and see if they have assigned a VIN. Seems there’s a number of people being told they will get a delivery of their lease company only to find out Tesla haven’t allocated a car yet! I’m via Leaseplan and they told me it would be delivered to home on the 17th - calling Tesla confirmed that there was no car assigned yet and in reality I would be in the next batch of cars for late Feb/early March. They said you will receive a text as soon as a car has been allocated to your lease order. Now battling a suitable means to have them cable up the supplied charger….

I must have got lucky and received a cancellation slot from someone who couldn’t make the event (they are re-assigning cars for people)
Not sure if you are handing back an old car or anything so it’s definately worth checking with Tesla themselves as opposed to the leasing company to make sure you are not left without a car!

It's just part of the Tesla "we don't do marketing" marketing.I’ve been invited to the “unique” launch event on 19th Feb in Southampton to collect my Y.

Drove the Model Y today at the Trafford Centre. The car was fitted with the optional 20” wheels. I’m looking for an EV for my wife that will spend 90% of its time on local roads and will be charged using the charger at home.
I was given a 30 minute test route to follow which I ignored and headed over the m60 and down the A57 towards Cadishead. This stretch of road is in pretty crap state and I’d chosen it after reading all the reviews about harsh suspension. I’d say it firm but not overly harsh or crashy. Think Audi S-Line or M-Sport and you won’t be far away. Anyone expecting Land Rover levels of ride will be disappointed.
The rest of the experience was pretty underwhelming. The steering has no feel whatsoever and when you do turn the wheel it changes direction too quickly. The driving position isn’t great either, I felt like I was sat on it rather than in it. I really wanted to like this car as the storage options, front and rear are excellent as is the tech, battery, performance but it feels overpriced.

Picking mine up 3rd March (long range, red, black interior).
Was given various pickup date options from late Feb to early March; emailed Tesla who confirmed that car is registered on the day of pickup so mine will be a '22 plate. Something to bear in mind if you'd rathe have a '22 than a '71.
"Hi [chemistry],
Thank you for your email
Yes I can confirm it will be a 22 plate as we register the car on the day of collection
Kind regards,
Megane

I decided to go for a test drive in a model Y today. My wife is very keen on getting one.
Interior seemed the same as my 2021 Model 3 Long Range, with the exception that the steering wheel is a lot chunkier for some reason.
The car we drove was on the 20" wheels - suspension compliance seemed pretty much the same as the model 3 despite the larger diameter wheels. I thought the spring rates were supposed to be stiffer, but it seemed to have slightly less good lateral body control, so seemed softer to me.
Acceleration was similar - felt slightly slower, but not much.
The one problem I did notice - it was far less quiet inside than the model 3. I think the cause was a lack of a parcel shelf. But it made the cabin noise worse imo. The sales guy said he didn't know if they were going to get parcel shelf or not.
Much better luggage space, and a bigger front trunk area too. Plus rear seats were spring loaded to fold down easily.
Overall, my wife would like the long range in red with the 20" black wheels but with the slighly bigger battery whenever it comes out.
